Nissan Land Glider could make it to the U.S. as an Infiniti
One of the most bizarre vehicles featured at the Tokyo Motor Show is the electric Nissan Land Glider Concept. Measuring at about 43 inches wide, the Land Glider has wheels and fenders that tilt, allowing the car to lean as it goes around curves in the road. The design of the Land appears to be an enclosed motorcycle with a glass dome ceiling.

The narrow two-seater vehicle uses individual electric motors positioned above its axles, allowing the car to lean 17 degrees while cornering. While taking curves at full speed, it is the tilting body that keeps the narrow vehicle stable. According to insiders, the concept is seriously being considered for the automaker’s luxury Infiniti brand lineup in global markets, including the US. Takashi Nakajima, director of exploratory design for Nissan, said that this is the second phase of its electric-vehicle design.

I seriously doubt that it will come to the US.

I seriously doubt you have a brain considering it will not have to pass US emissions standards and AMERICA is the only place they sell INFINITI up until a year ago when they moved to Euope too. It's a lot cheaper to bring over an electric car since you only have to pass a leak test for the Windshield washer fluid and batteries then only pay a 2.5% duty to customs. SIMPLE!

The turning circle will be worse than a motorcycle. What is the passenger limit?

I hope the people who drive it dont get knocked over by the wind or get sucked into the draft of a passing semi. lol

Nah, with the battery likely being at the bottom of the vehicle, they seem to have the handling/center of gravity addressed. I am trying to figure out just how I would die in this thing immediately. It is not if or when it will happen, it is a matter of how ;)

Is it truly street legal ?
Is it considered as a car ?
Is it required to wear a helmet ?

Just looking at it, I think it's some kind of T-Rex or BRP CanAm vehicle.

Doesn't look stable, thought it was going to transform. Interesting concept...

I would be very interested in a vehicle like this. This is exactly what I think we need in the future. Great job Nissan. Finally.
