More extreme version of the Lexus LFA in the works
As you may know already, Lexus finally launched the LFA supercar at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show and made quite a buzz. What we are going to tell you now is even more interesting: a more extreme version of the LFA will be built by Lexus by the end od 2012, when the production of the 500 units will be finished.

The powerful version will resemble the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series, which means that will be less comfortable but it will deliver better performances on the racing track. For those who don’t know, the LFA carries a V10 engine capable to deliver 560 hp at 8700 rpm and 480 Nm of torque from 3700 to 9000 rpm. With these numbers the car can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) I 3.7 seconds while the top speed achieved is 325 km/h (202 mph).

lol cause 480Nm sounds more impressive then 350ft-lbs. And this is sad that they are already admitting to being slower then its other supercar brethren.

Hell, 7:50 8:00 ain't even slow!. Any car that's below 8 is very impressive in my opinion. Not every driver for every car is capable of handling a car in those conditions and you can't forget the track is very advanced and only the professionals can excel on this course.

A lot of rev but very weak on torque.....I would like to compare that engine with Gallardo V10 and M5 V10...to understand why we have to pay 400k for it...I do not have any doubt about the exclusivity of this car but asuming that it is a regular production model as let say the GTR or R8... how the sales numbers could be?....the wolrd is changing...But still I do not like the design...and for that price I hope better performance than the 458 but, with reliability of course.

NA engine Torque: Nm/L

Gallardo: 100
M3: 100
LF-A: 100
R8:102
M5: 104

458 italia: 120

Most of them are about the same, but you can see Ferrari is way above everyone. Wonder what they did to engine......

it's not a rumor- it was said by the man who was in charge of the LFA project himself. He stated this even before the LFA was introduced. I expect the 'normal' LFA to have even better performance than the Lexus numbers indicate. Did anyone else notice that ALL the journalists from around the world quote Lexus's numbers and not their own? The only disparity I see is the HP and top speed #'s. Some say 552. Some say 560HP. Some say 201 mph some say 204mph. When has any manufacturer's acceleration or performance #'s been better than in actuality? Nissan claimed 0-60 in under 4 seconds. Reality= 0-60 in 3.2 seconds. Nissan claimed a 185 mph top speed. In reality= 190+ mph top speed. Nissan claimed 7:30 for nurburgring lap time. Reality= 7:25!

Should we expect the Lexus with LESS weight, MORE HP, Better aero efficiency to be slower? These performance numbers from Lexus are conservative if not humble. I expect the REAL numbers will be much better when the magazines and journalists OFFICIALLY test a PRODUCTION version and not a pre-production prototype that's been lapping the ring for the past 3 months!

no, but you probably will sh*t yourself when it's found to be the real deal and not something made up like you think it is. But it's ok- you can feel immportant still with your lame joke. LMAO

Sadly the LFA will only be a collector, it won't beat anything. 350lbs of torque is nothing for a $400k car, and with such engine. For God's sake the GT-R has 434lbs of torque, and it costs $80k.
So, for more luxury, better quality, and maybe a bit of performance you're paying $320k more??? That just doesn't add up at all.

I can spend $10k on a GT-R and have it kick the LFA's ass anytime...
The LFA should be priced at no more than $100k.

I don't understand why all you European fanboi hate Japanese cars so much. You should be thankful that Toyota produce this car because it force competition to make their car even better.

And it funny Japan and German were ally during World War 2. German even made Japan an honory Aryan. Please read and learn your history before you make stupid racist comment.

And another thing, it not like all you up here can afforded it anyway. I definitely agree that it really expensive for a Lexus. With that kind of money I can get a Lambo Gallardo LP-560 and still have money left to get an Aston Martin V8 Vantage. Or get the Aston Martin DBS and AM V8 Vantage.

Definitely a Supercar material and has the number to back up, but it just to expensive. Would I buy this car if I had $400,000? No because I would rather buy an Lambo Gallardo and an Aston Martin V8 Vantage instead. Or I just might get two Aston Martin instead the DBS and AM V8 Vantage.

Do you have a point?
Also that Hitler allied himself to some Japanese emperor in 1940 is not something to be proud of... not for Germany, not for Japan either!

They are american fanboys. Just typical dumb americans. They hate everything from Japan, because it's better.
