Jalopnik First Test Drive Of Lexus LFA: The Most Comprehensive Supercar Ever Made!

Jalopnik First Test Drive Of Lexus LFA: The Most Comprehensive Supercar Ever Made!
The 2011 Lexus LFA isn't the fastest car ever made, nor the most powerful or even the quickest to 60 MPH. It can't even match the ZR1 around the Nürburgring. So why will this Toyota cost nearly $400,000?

Full Disclosure: Lexus wanted us to drive the LFA so badly they flew me to Miami and put me up in a fancy hotel. Also, they fed me cornbread with jalapenos in it. If anyone wants to bribe me, southern food is definitely the way to do it, but I'd really have preferred country ham biscuits and red eye gravy.

I think it's a super made for people that doesn't like to drive.
No it's not the fastest (may be the most expensive tough) but from what I read so far, it's a capable supercar that even Hyundaismoke could drive fast while being pampered in a very luxurious cabin.

It's a good thing, some people will like it, but at this price, I'll go for a Ferrari 599.

Still, kudos to Toyota for having the guts to finally release it. It's a great car and I'll bet it's going to be more reliable than a Ferrari.

Since I like to get involved driving a car and since I don't care about lux amenities in a sport car, this car is not for me, but I give the credit to Toyota to be the first to build a comfortable, luxurious and driver-friendly supercar.

Jag tried 20 years ago with the XJ220 but failed miserably.

Have been reading lately, Toyota has been dropping in reliability, while the other companies are taking over. Consumer report has even nissan altima ,malibu and the accord higher ratings than the camry and recently Toyota's god JD power rank altima as the most reliable sedan and infiniti, bmw and other is leading lexus ,where have you been. And not to metion the mat incident that they are force with recalling 3.9 million vehicle lately and of course the car that kill the family was a lexus, which they are not still not sure if it is the mats.

I don't understand why people are already calling this car reliable... it's like calling the Veyron reliable cause vw made it... people who buy cars in this price range very seldom say how much they have spent on repairs... why? because it makes them look stupid for buying a car that always needs fixing.

I don't understand why all you European fanboi hate Japanese cars so much. You should be thankful that Toyota produce this car because it force competition to make their car even better.

And it funny Japan and German were ally during World War 2. German even made Japan an honory Aryan. Please read and learn your history before you make stupid racist comment.

And another thing, it not like all you up here can afforded it anyway. I definitely agree that it really expensive for a Lexus. With that kind of money I can get a Lambo Gallardo LP-560 and still have money left to get an Aston Martin V8 Vantage. Or get the Aston Martin DBS and AM V8 Vantage.

Definitely a Supercar material and has the number to back up, but it just to expensive. Would I buy this car if I had $400,000? No because I would rather buy an Lambo Gallardo and an Aston Martin V8 Vantage instead. Or I just might get two Aston Martin instead the DBS and AM V8 Vantage.

The only "girl" getting in the LF-A is a grandma.

Have you been drinking, maybe your girl, girls like pretty fast going machines and the GTR,supra, nsx, ferrari, porsche,Bmw M and benz is more rated car in around the world as a racer, becuase they create excitment, girls love that.Notice the fastest man in the world has girls in his bmw racer and not a lexus when it crash and what he purchase, again a bmw.The lexus is another luxury car that girls will not like depending in which country they live, but I guess the americans will like it.Do a survey and you will see that people will perfer having a nissan GTR, toyota supra and honda NSX as a racer world wide becuase they are genuine and the lexus only been see as a luxury boost up car. Now,one question what will happen if nissan bring the infiniti essence into production because a prototype have been seen in europe on the race track in some sort of exibition and it kicks ass becuase it has a total of 650 hp.Now where will be lexus LF-A?

Excellent article. Wow,im more impressed with this car every day. So many reviews are calling it the best overall exotic car ever made. That's a huge statement.Toyota doesn't make too many sports cars, but when they do they do it right. As far as reliability, people are saying it will be reliable based on how it was produced (with every detail of the car well thought out) and based on toyotas history. Those are credible sources if you ask me.

you guys are seriously retards or something asking about floor mats. we all know the floor mat story and when you look at this car it doesn't have floor mats. what supercar have you seen uses floor mats? The stupidity on this site is abundant. Females aren't always impressed with badge. They did a survey one time and most females didn't even care about badge but the way the car looked. The California looks tacky as hell by ferarri standards. As does the new 458 Italia. The car may look kinda goofy here on websites and pictures, but in real life it sits so low and sounds just as mean as any supercar there is.
