First Look At Future Products Coming From Audi
Dear 001,

Check out some of the new product coming from Audi that I spotted in some of the German mags.

Looks like the A8 is bang on and the others look hot.

Nice. LED's is the standout exterior feature yet again. If this is clost to the actual design that is. Somehow i still feel an S-class looks more superior. Thats just me though.

I think unfortunately that 3rd pic will be really close to what the actual A8 will look like...
there have been few renders out just look like that.

The A3 looks great; nice character line from the side view. The A8 has the current grill, which I doubt they'll use, so it looks a little suspect. I hope the front end borrows more from the A7 Sportback concept shown at the Detroit Auto Show.

I wonder what the engine option will be for the S8. As nice and exotic the V10 is from the current model it seriously lacks the acceleration of the S63, S65, M5, hell even the S5 with it's 354 HP V8. I know compared to the S5 it's a matter of weight, but still as the sport model of the Flagship you would expect more.

Maybe the TT of the RS6 should be the likely choice. 580hp and Quattro. Plus the S8 is lighter than the S6...

Any Audi execs listening...

These products all look phenomenal and will be exactly what Audi needs to overthrow BMW as the world's best selling premium brand by 2015.

Audi has all the bases covered from the A1 (MINI competitor), Q3 (BMW X1 competitor) the R4 electric mini-R8, all the way up through the A7 (CLS/6-series competitor) and, of course, the A8 luxury flagship to battle BMW's 7-series and Mercedes-Benz's S-class.

These future Audi cars look clean, sporty, elegant, and distinctive through their use of the classic Audi design elements such as the large single-frame grille, LED daytime-running lights for the front and rear, and excellent interior quality.

To answer your question, DexDiamonds, many reports are saying the next S8 will be powered by a 600 horsepower V10 engine. It will be the RS6's 580 horsepower twin-turbo V10 with a few extra ponies and will certainly hold its own against the Benz S63/S65 AMG models as well as BMW's 760Li and M5.

Good I like the S8. Here on the East coast the Troopers are beast. So I like the subtly of the S8 and how it masks it's speed. Plus the AWD is great for a peace of mind...

More dull overpriced Audis. Why are some folks here praying that Audi takes Bmw's spot as the top driver's car? Do they have stock in audi or are they just retarded fanboys?

I've always liked Audi's and currently own one, but anybody who's owned a relatively expensive car from a low-volume manufacturer, especially a used one, knows the pain of a limited parts and service network. I always root for them to become more popular so I don't have to pay so much for parts and can choose from a greater selection of independent mechanics. In addition, any increase in enthusiasm for the brand never hurts resale value.

Plus, I'm retarded.

Audi's designs maybe boring, and predictable (except the R8) but these boring and predictable designs make more money right now than BMW's controversial Bangle-era designs. Just check the 2008 profitability numbers for Audi and BMW to see just how much more profitable Audi is.

Boring predictable designs always sell the most. Look at Toyota. That doesn't sound like anything worth bragging about IMO.

And about sales? Who uses Profits to determine which car to get? Only fanboys and stock holders pay attention to that stuff. As long as the Company isn’t going out of business or close to it, then I’ll consider the brand. Who sells the most vehicles doesn’t mean that they build the best vehicles. What next? Bragging about profit margins? (which btw does nothing for the consumer)

"Who uses Profits to determine which car to get?"

Those who use losses to determine which car NOT to get--like a Chrysler, for example.

- OK I'll rephrase the question; Who uses profits to determine which vehicle to get among car companies that aren't going out of business (or in financial trouble)?.

LexSucks why do you compare Toyota to Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz??

Toyota has never been, nor will it ever be a competitor to the aforementioned German trio in terms of product offerings, price, or target market.

Whoever sells the most vehicles, does mean that that particular company builds the best cars IN RELATION TO ITS COMPETITORS.

So, considering that BMW and Mercedes-Benz are direct competitors to Audi in terms of product offering, price, and target market, then YES, Audi would build the best cars in relation to Mercedes-Benz and BMW.

Yes, Audis may not be the best driving vehicles (except the R8) but if Audi outsells BMW worldwide, that means that "best" obviously does not mean "best driving".

Profit-margins does nothing for the consumer?? Are you a MORON, LexSucks? YES. Profit-Margins do everything for the consumer. They determine if the customer can even buy a car from that manufacturer, what features that car will have, its driving characteristics etc.

Audi makes the most money out of the German Trio and it is not surprising that Audi will surpass Mercedes-Benz in global annual sales next year in 2010 according to a recently published expert study.

“LexSucks why do you compare Toyota to Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz??”

- I didn’t compare Toyota to those brands. You did inadvertently when you mentioned sales as a main Audi strong Point. If you’re using sales to determine which type of vehicle to get, then we all should be driving Totoyas. Fleet sales mean nothing as long as each company is successful. Do you honestly think that a person looking at a BMW would choose not to get the BMW because Audi “sells” more vehicles than BMW does worldwide? Didn’t think so.

“Toyota has never been, nor will it ever be a competitor to the aforementioned German trio in terms of product offerings, price, or target market.”

- Could you show me where I made that actual comparison? Comparing vehicle sales isn’t the same as comparing vehicle models. And besides, you were the one who brought up the subject of vehicle sales in the first place. An area where Toyota Kicks Audi’s ass

“Whoever sells the most vehicles, does mean that that particular company builds the best cars IN RELATION TO ITS COMPETITORS.”

- So by using your logic. The 3-series is a better vehicle than the A4 because they sell more 3-series models than the A4? The M3 is better than the RS4 because they sell more M3’s. You see the flaw to your logic?

“So, considering that BMW and Mercedes-Benz are direct competitors to Audi in terms of product offering, price, and target market, then YES, Audi would build the best cars in relation to Mercedes-Benz and BMW.”

- Incorrect statement. Sales do not dictate which vehicles are the best among competing brands. If that is indeed the case, then you are basically admitting that the 3-series is a better car than the A4, The M3 is a better car than the RS4 (or s4 for that matter), the X5 is better than the Q7, and the X3 is a better vehicle than the Q5. All the BMWs that I’ve mentioned outsell their Audi Counterparts, so the BMWs are better? Right?

“Yes, Audis may not be the best driving vehicles (except the R8) but if Audi outsells BMW worldwide, that means that "best" obviously does not mean "best driving".”

- Then what does the “best” mean? Sales?, Driving dynamics? If its sales then Audi may be better. If it is driving Dynamics then BMW is better. Guess which criteria folks that prefer the driving experience are going to choose

“Profit-margins does nothing for the consumer?? Are you a MORON, LexSucks? YES. Profit-Margins do everything for the consumer. They determine if the customer can even buy a car from that manufacturer, what features that car will have, its driving characteristics etc.”

- I was hoping you would try to defend that. Profit margin in regards to automobiles means that a Company can sell their cars for more money, than the competing car company can, even though both cars from each brand costs the same to build. Profit margin is a measurement of how much more money a company can get out of you. Audis are overpriced, that is

Rest of the post:

Audis are overpriced, that is why they have a high profit margin. The same applies to BMW/MB/Porsche, etc… I’m not sure why anyone other than a share holder would want to brag about that.

“Audi makes the most money out of the German Trio and it is not surprising that Audi will surpass Mercedes-Benz in global annual sales next year in 2010 according to a recently published expert study.”

- Making the most money doesn’t equate to making the most exciting cars. Why is that so hard for you to understand?
