2007 Mercedes-Benz S-Class-No iPod needed?

One of the features on the new 'S' that we love is the pc card slot right below the cd changer.

What that means to you is that ANY flash memory product that has a cheap pc card adaptor can be used in your car as an iPod subsitute.

Take your digital camera's flash memory card, copy your songs over to it from your PC's hard drive, place in it the pc card adaptor and slide it in the dash.

We think every car should offer this.

The flash memory chips are way cheaper than iPods.

I just bought a 4GB compact flash unit for $89.00 online.

Don't worry, the new S-Class also has an iPod connection kit as well if you so desire.

Your logic is flawed. Your 4GB card cost you $90. My 60GB iPod cost $400. You'd have to spend $1350 in flash cards (not including the adapter) to equal the same amount of storage. PLus you have to portable playback nor video. 
 
iPod is still the better deal.

Ipods are overated. There are several MP3 players out there that offers features that the Ipod doesn't have and sound better to boot. People who buy Ipods don't do any type of product research. Ipod owners are followers. Lucky for them that the Ipod is a decent mp3 player but its not the best. Kinda reminds me of the Beta-max/VHS wars of the Eighties. The best product doesn't always win.

If you are like me and spend lots of time inside your car..best bet is having a satellite radio IMO.
