SEMA AUTO SHOW: BMW X6 Gone Wild?

SEMA AUTO SHOW: BMW X6 Gone Wild?
So, what do you get when you take parts from a BMW, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, amongst others and put them together using an open-sourced method?

You get the Local Motors Rally Fighter, of course!

Although this is hard to say with all of the wacky stuff at the SEMA show, the Rally Fighter has to be the craziest car at the show.  Equipped with a BMW 335d engine, power is substantial.  Putting out 265-horsepower and 425 lb-ft of torque and weighing in at an estimated 3,200 pounds, performance is likely to impress.

Not to mention it should get reasonable MPG out of the diesel motor.  It is said to get approximately 30-36 MPG.

Now you may be asking just who are these Local Motors guys anyway?  Basically their idea is to connect with buyers who want to be a part of the design process and individualize their car.  Thus, it will bring car enthusiasts, engineers and designers together.  Pretty revolutionary, no?

I was going to post this, incredible vehicle! This would drive circles around anything out there from the factory! This vehicle has 18 in front wheel travel and 20 in rear wheel travel, compare this to the Raptors 11.2ish front wheel travel and almose double the weight, did I mention 30mpg, unfortunatly it is around $50,000.The only bad thing that I would say is that it should come with a low range and four wheel drive with a shorter hood and three seats behind the driver to carry a total of at least 5.For the first time ever some people thinking outside of the box, I can't wait until the day that some company builds something that I want, this is as close to it as it gets.

But the people with the money to buy it would be soccer moms to use it to drop off their kids. Maybe this is the next step in the SUV evoluton. I do agree that this is one bad ass vehicle!
