AUTO SPIES EXCLUSIVE: Spyshot-2007 Audi TT coupe without camouflage

These shots give the best view yet of both the coupe and roadster version of the next-generation Audi TT, showing how the company has grown and adapted its design to stay at the top of the styling charts.

The models revealed here will be joined by a three-door hatch variant, but it's the classic two-door bodystyle that will make up most of the sales. Although the hatchback Shooting Brake concept - unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show back in October - was first to showcase the TT's new look, these pictures uncover the production version for the very first time. It has been caught while undergoing testing by our spies and, as you can see, the current model's instantly recognisable lines have been moulded into something much more modern and even more appealing.

Ready to go on sale next autumn year, the TT Coupe will have a new rival in the shape of BMW's Z4 coupe, but the next Audi will boast a more spacious cabin. And while the outgoing model's back seats are uncomfortable for adults, rear passen?gers in the newcomer will benefit from extra space, and there will be more luggage room in the trunk.

The extra inches have given the company's designers greater flexibility to pen a more attractive hood for the Roadster, which will join the line-up in 2007.

Benefiting from Audi's latest engine technology, the new TT will be offered with the 2.0-liter powerplant from parent company Volkswagen's Golf in both naturally aspirated and turbocharged forms. A 250bhp 3.2-liter six-cylinder unit will head up the range at launch, and all motors will benefit from VW's latest Fuel Stratified Injection (FSI) technology to boost efficiency.

Audi's latest turbocharged and supercharged engines will be available too, while plans to develop a diesel TT are thought to be underway. And all but the entry-level variants will come with quattro all-wheel drive, but buyers can expect a more involving driving experience across the range.

Enthusiasts also have the prospect of a genuine supercar-baiting TT flagship to look forward to. Likely to be badged the RS, this range-topper will be powered by a 2.0-liter bi-turbo unit, and will take on BMW's hot Z4 M. Expect to see the new coupe in the metal for the first time at the Paris Motor Show in September, with the first lucky buyers taking deliv?ery before the end of 2006.

Looks more of a facelift rather than a completely new model.

Well nice,rear end looks cute.

But what about Audi Shooting brake concept which was rumoured to be the next TT.I can't see the concept's styling reflecting from it.

Good design but overall not as competitive as it has to be coz there is
Z4 coupe/roadster, boxter/cayman, slk, 3 series coupe/cabrio in it's category.Hmmmmmm strong rivals.

Not very different in style. I understand Audi has quite a feat in replaceing this icon in its range. I guess they went for subtlety and not for the WOW factor this time around. Too bad....

To JUGNU, the Shooting Break concept WAS THE ACTUAL NEXT-GEN TT with a Sportback added and RS-style enhancement fitted to the bottom. It was not a true concept built from the ground-up. The Shooting break's headlights, grill (with more traditional raking) and tail-lights (the lower red portion) are the SAME on the new TT.

Trust me, the WOW factor will be there once all that camouflage in these spy pics is removed.

Audi had to satisfy two camps: one that didn't want ANY change to the classic TT form, and the other that wanted a more aggressive, sleeker design.

I think Audi has done a superb job preserving the TT's trademark silhouette while adding modern, aggressive elements like the sloping new headlights, the single-frame grill, and the upward sweep on the side. The rear has also been revised to be less bulbous, and will also have an integrated spoiler pop up at high speeds.

Again, remember that these spy shots show a TT who’s front and back are heavily disguised.

I believe the roadster and Audi TT coupe are beautiful! I am actually hard to please when it comes to design. Regardless of the many compliments I've read regarding the Z4 coupe, IMO, both the coupe and Z4 roadster are hideous. The Z4 M is not as ugly when it has the rear spoiler leveling its "hunchback". Again differing from the auto pundits, I love the Porsche Boxster roadsters and find the coupe bearly acceptable. I just hope the biturbo quattro is available with a manual!

Its beautiful, but it doesnt look good enough. I get a bit picky with designs and sadly I don't like this one. I think bigger wheels should be a new trend in sports cars, coz this one doesn't look very attractive with small wheels. or at least the car could to be smaller 2 make the wheels look big. Cars like some japanese ones hav small wheels. I think they should use headlights like the Nuvolari, that will look better on the TT. I dont like the roof, it should be bigger as they said they were gonna make it more spacious. Well, thats about all the complaint i hav about it. I gotta say, i like the back...
