AUTO SPIES EXCLUSIVE: Spies get confidential details on special edition Lexus IS350

The prettiest Lexus IS we've seen yet was in the booth in Detroit.

When we laid eyes on it, we just couldn't stop staring at this beauty.

And we can tell you that even though the pictures are beautiful, it looks even more amazing in real life.

Not only was it painted in a custom 'Carrizma ultra blue pearl' color (The Spies hear the Lexus execs liked it so much, it may make it to production next year), it looked very similar to what people have described to us as the future Lexus 'AMG-like' offerings, coming soon.

If you remember, last year they announced they are readying a tuner division that will produce products like the AMG and M offerings from the competitors.

We have obtained all the details of the car on the show floor in Detroit from one of our agents...Don't ask us how, we just did!

Its more of the same G-A-R-B-A-G-E from Lexus. Like most japanese offerings, they look good at first and even second glance but you fall out of love with it after a few months. Think Infinity fx35/45, m45, lexus gs,ls, acura tl, rl. Its like looking at an ugly chic in your bed in the morning. You wonder what the hell you were thinking when you picked up up when the bar closed.

If you want to see real enduring designs; designs that you keep loving forver, think about the current range rover, the 3-series coupe, the rolls royce phantom, the 6-series coupe, the new s-class, the previous e-class, the cls class, the mini. All these cars were built with an artistic eye.

In fact, ALL except the mercedes' were designed under Chris Bangle (Rolls Royce is still under BMW and range rover was sold to Ford after the RR was designed).

I guess thats better than the really ugly at first, then you kinda get used to it and maybe start to like it bmw designs.

Car freek interesting link.

"The slide show that follows lists 14 unreliable luxury cars, and four are from Mercedes. The only other manufacturers with more than one model on the list are BMW and Jaguar, with two each. "

carFREEK....I thought that the whole point of posting on Autospies was to give your opinion positive or negative. Or rather is the rest of the thousands of other members that are apparently posting wrongly?

As for the car. Wow. A tuner edition. Waiting to be impressed. Still has the same cramped back seat and uncomfortable front seats. Where is the originality? Why can't people just mod cars like they used to...to their preference. "Hey look man, you have a tuner edition like I do"

Blech!
