Sweet! New Lexus LS460 photo gallery-Interior

Luxury, Redefined by Lexus

Intelligent technology and emotionally evocative design is clearly evident throughout the beautifully appointed cabin of the new LS sedans. Extra luxury and comfort touches include a heated steering wheel and seats swathed in one of four tones of semi-aniline leathers matched to one of three coordinating wood-grain trims.

Rear occupants can relax and enjoy power reclining seats equipped with power leg rests and even a massage feature. The new LS even offers body-heat sensors that help maintain the perfect temperature for all occupants. A fold-away table matched to the interior wood grain provides ample work space for rear passengers. The LS also features a nine-inch headliner-mounted rear-screen monitor along with an all-new 19-speaker Mark Levinson® audio system that provides a true theater-level entertainment experience. Additional luxury convenience features include a power rear-door closer and an automatic-powered opening/closing trunk lid.

New Lexus Design Direction
Over the last two years, Lexus has developed a new styling philosophy that it calls L-finesse. This new design language rests upon the inherent contrast between simplicity and elegance-and the beauty of achieving a balance between the two. Simplicity, in form and function, reflects styling that is uncluttered and void of extraneous elements. Lexus elegance, inside and out, avoids exaggeration by prioritizing understated luxury that is intriguing, subtle, seamless and slightly surprising.

Lexus imbued the development of the 2006 GS and IS series sport sedans with this new styling direction. Now the LS further expands the L-finesse visual philosophy, revealing a family resemblance in the new Lexus sedans-one that conveys elegance, refinement and a strong emotional appeal.
"During the next few months, we'll provide more details about the all-new Lexus LS 460 as we prepare to launch this highly anticipated sedan," said Press. "If you like the way the LS looks, you'll be even more impressed when you hear about its advanced safety and innovative technology," he added.

The 2007 Lexus LS 460 and LS 460L are targeted for sale beginning in the fall of 2006.

Closest competitors in interior ergonomics is either Acura or Infiniti. Interior featuring L-finesse visual philosophy is amazing along with features like a power rear-door closer is surprising. Lexus's only real challenger is currently Acura RL.

What, I meant was..as far as interior ergonomics goes..but on second thought even the Acura RL's interior looks outdated to this thing.

I SAY IT AGAIN THAT PLZ FORGIVE ME FOR MY ENGLISH,AS IT DON'T MATTER,THE IDEAS AND KNOWLEDGE ABOUT CARS IS SOMETHING THAT REALLY MATTERS...ISN'T IT.

HENRY AND HIS SUPPORTERS Just tell me a thing,r u capable of affording a $100K-130K Luxury car.

If yes do u want to have a deal,THAT IS, A CAR COMPANY IS GIVING U THE INTERIOR, OF A $375K+(MAYBACH) FOR HALF THE PRICE THAT IS IN $100K-130K RANGE.
I THINK EVEN SOME MENTALS/CYCOS WILL ACCEPT IT.
WHY NOT U.

DON'T U WANT TO RAISE YOUR STANDARD,DON'T U WANT TO IMPROVE YOUR STATUS,THAT IS U WILL THINK AFTER OWNING LEXUS LS THAT BEFORE I USE TO DRIVE SOMETHING LIKE BMW OR MB (MID LUXURY OR MAYBE FULL) BUT NOW I DRIVE ULTRA LUXURY,THEREFORE I AM IMPROVED.

IF ATALL GOD HAS NOT GIVEN U ENOUGH TO AFFORD A $375K+ ULTRA LUXURY CAR,
WHY NOT CLINCH THE OPPURTUNITY IF IT'S AVAILABLE FOR U TO ENJOY THE SAME COMFORT,FEELING,LUXURY,FEATURES AS OF A ROYAL RICH'S MAYBACH FOR HALF THE PRICE(NOT EVEN HALF LESSER THAN THAT).

AND HENRY THERE R PLENTY OF BUYERS FOR IT,AND THAT IS MAINLY U ALL,LEXUS IS IMPROVING AND INCREASING YOUR STANDARDS FOR LUXURY,AND GIVING U THE LUXURY OF THE 21'ST CENTURY.
THE LUXURY AND FEATURES OF FUTURE,
AND BELIEVE ME MANY LUXURY MAKERS WILL FOLLOW THEM.

JUST STOP HATING LEXUS OR JAPANESSE BRANDS SOME OF U FOR SOME PERSONAL ISSUES OR HATRED NOT TO BE DISCUSSED,I HAVE SEEN MANY OF U CONTINEOUSLY HATING AND DECREDITING JAPANEESE BRANDS,NOT BECOZ U DON'T LIKE IT BUT FOR SOMETHIN ELSE.EVEN IF THEY GIVE U A PLANE FOR THE MONEY OF A BMW OR MB OR AUDI,U WILL STILL CRITICISE IT.
STOP SAYING THEM THAT THEY COPIED OR THEY R THE CHEATERS/FRAUDS.WHAT FRAUD THEY HAVE DONE WITH U.

THAT'S THE CASE WITH SOME OF U WHICH IS TOTTALLY UNFAIRRRRRR.

GIVE THEM CREDIT AS THEY DESERVES IT.THEY HAVE CHANGED AND TURNED MANY TRENDS IN THE CAR WORLD IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

SUMMARY OF THE STORY:
[ALL IN ALL, U R GETTING THE SAME LUXURY EVEN BETTER,THAN OF YOUR BELOVED MAYBACH'S, FOR LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE, IN A LEXUS LS]

{HOW'S THAT DEAL FOR LUXURY LOVERS AND BUYERS}.

[JUST PAY $100K-130K AND NOT $360K-380K FOR THE HIGHEST/BIGGEST/, LUXURY IN THE WORLD, AVAILABLE IN A CAR]

{HOW'S THAT,HOW'S IT SOUNDS}.

AND PLZ ATLEAST ANY 1 AGREE WITH ME,REWRIGHT MY COMMENT IN A GOOD ENGLISH + ADD HIS OWN COMMENTS IN IT IF HE LIKES TO.

MAY I TURN ATLEAST 1 PERSON TO THE TRUTH AND FAIRNESS TO GIVE HIS UNBIASSED JUDGEMENT ON A CAR.

Remember that it took Mercedes a century or more to get to where it is and BMW about 40-60 years. Less than two generations down the line when it comes to luxury automobiles the line will be non-existent between Japanese and European luxury cars. We will be talking about luxury cars period.
Our generation and the next are now exposed to Japanese luxury and as they grow up, they will grow to appreciate them for what they are. Quality, Status, Quiet Luxury and Conservative Styling, which Mercedes et al tend to be losing by over styling their flagship sedan.

It is a baseless argument to say that these are cars built by Toyota or Honda or Nissan. You can say the same for European cars like Jaguars, Range Rovers, Porsche, etc.
Some people say that they lack performance. I believe 99.5% of people who buy the S Class Mercedes or the 725 BMW do not buy them for performance so that is a no-brainer. Luxury cars are meant to pamper you not make you feel every pothole that you climb into or to race down the highway.

I believe most of those naysayers are just repeating what they read in some of those car magazines that just cannot find any fault with Japanese Luxury cars but for the fact that they are giving the Europeans a run for their money.

Sure it's nice, but it's no Maybach. Anyone who compares it to a Maybach has NEVER driven or researched the Maybach. Again, the LS is a good value. Lexus is ALWAYS about PRICE and RELIABILITY, more so than prestige or classic styling or superior performance. Without the price advantage and statistical reliability ratings, Lexus would not be half the success story it is. For me, I'll gladly pay a little more and take a slight statistical reliability risk in order to have a much more beautiful and prestigious and elegant European Luxury Sedan. The Lexus folks will have us all believe that the rest of us live in the repair shop. Ridiculous! From a distance it is hard to tell the Lexus from a Camry! (after all, they are both Toyotas!) On a side note, why on earth would Lexus put an SUV-type multimedia screen hanging down from the roof when the technology has advanced to individual monitors in the back of the front headrests? All the best use the headrest monitors now. It reminds me of the stupid flip-flop 3rd row seats in the Lexus SUV's. Instead of fold-flat seats, they offer dysfunctional (and this dysfunction is RELIABLE, as they will brag about, of course) stupidity! I'll pass . . . thanks anyway. The new S-Class and others are simply better choices.

wow, is anyone else in love with the tail pipes as much as I am? They're flush with the body -- it's perfect!

man, if Lexus just focused on making better looking rims, they would be absolutely perfect.

"Lexus haven't won anything?"

umm lets see, Lexus stays on top of the JD power rating. Lexus beat out the Mercedes S class and BMW 7 series in head to head test comparison in car magazines like Car and Driver and Motor Trend. Lexus leads in sales of all Luxury brand in North America. Welcome to reality.
