Volvo Goes Back To The Drawing Board, Puts Away The Box

Volvo Goes Back To The Drawing Board, Puts Away The Box
Volvo is planning on moving even further from its slab-sided design roots, judging by this teaser sketch flashed up briefly during a recent presentation in Gothenburg.

CAR managed to sneak a quick cameraphone shot of the anonymous new Volvo when it momenatarily appeared. Problem is, we’re not quite sure what it is!

The chances are it’s a generic doodle by one of Volvo’s designers, showing a direction or flavour of what’s to come rather than a specific new model....

Based on the Design language of the XC60 and new S60...that drawing looks to be the next C30. They may make it larger and rename it C50 since the S40 will no longer be in the lineup.

Don't like it. I think people who buys Volvo buys it for its rather conservative designs and this is anything but...

With that said, I hope they believe attracting new buyers and new markets will be more beneficial than keeping with the current buyers.

Your "anonymous" new Volvo? It's the Volvo S60 concept...

Perhaps you might want to actually go and READ the article in question--http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/Secret-new-cars/Search-Results/Spyshots/Volvo-hints-at-its-slick-new-design-future/--to see the image that CAR actually snapped with their own camera phone, which is completely different.

Way to keep those standards of journalism low...

Adambravo-- Maybe you should be the one actually paying attention here. Although the volvo shown at the top of this article is the S60 Concept, the link provided (read article) shows a 2 door Volvo (drawing) on the top right side. It even has the caption "A mystery new Volvo crossover" right below. Make sure that you follow these so called standards of journalism before you resort to writing hate posts. FAIL!

Oh, and in case you missed the 1st paragraph of the article...

"Volvo is planning on moving even further from its slab-sided design roots, judging by this teaser sketch flashed up briefly during a recent presentation in Gothenburg."

Ab311: I did read the article; it's a shame its contents were inaccurately represented here. Key phrase on THIS page, right at the very top, is : "...judging by this teaser sketch flashed up briefly..." ONLY image shown on this page is the unlabeled and mysteriously watermarked (suggesting this was Autospies property and not publicly available) S60 concept, which would lead the uninformed to the logical conclusion that "teaser sketch"="only image on this page". Sloppy and misleading.
