2009 MTM Volkswagen Golf VI GTD in Detail
The Bavarian based car specialist MTM, announced its latest tuning programme for the Volkswagen’s notorious Golf 6 GTD. An output upgrade, new exhaust system, rims, lowering springs and brakes are included in the package.

The factory VW Golf 6 GTD comes with a 2,0 liter TDI engine that produces 170 hp. After installing the new MTM handmade stainless steel exhaust system and an ECU remap, the Golf 6 GTD’s engine output increases to 205 hp. More style and even sportier look is achieved by the MTM Bimoto rims in dimensions 8,5 x 19” wrapped in Continental XL Sportcont tires with size 235/35 19. The 30 mm lowering from MTM’s spring kit and the special 380×34mm Brembo brakes with stainless steel breaklines and 8-piston caliper ensures the vehicle’s proper handling and increased agility.

As an addition to the exclusive tuning programme, Motoren Technik Mayer is also offering a 30mm spacers set.

so give me a 205hp FWD fast and furious Golf over a 420hp RWD M3?

Ummmm no! Not a chance!!

And I'm not taking away from the great job MTM always does with its upgrades but I'd "take" a 335 or s5 over this!

They took a 170hp engine and only gave it 205? For the money in upgrades it's not worth it when the factory performance models of many competitors are more powerful. FAIL.

Yeah but you can imagine the torque increase and the fact that it will still average over 30 mpg combined city/hwy u.s.
