Who won the Free Press best concepts at the 2006 Detroit auto show?

If you made it to the North American International Auto Show, you noticed the biggest crowds around the Chevrolet Camaro and the Dodge Challenger concepts.

Those were the biggest favorites among Detroit Free Press readers in the online survey last week of five concept cars we selected. Out of 2,100 votes cast in the unscientific survey, 43% voted for the Chevy Camaro, the rebirth of the iconic GM sports car. The Dodge Challenger was next with 38%.

Then it was a big drop to the luxury Chrysler Imperial and Buick Enclave midsize SUV concepts, which each got more than 7%. The Audi Roadjet was last with just over 4%.

Do you agree?

Interesting that the Imperial was third...

Buick Enclave?

Are you kidding?

YUCK!

Not only are GM and Ford out of touch when it comes to cars but it seems the city of Detroit may be suffering from the same disease.

I have to agree with Jer & Todd.....The Buick Enclave doesn't look all that bad. And it's interior is REALLY nice for a GM product. Check it out here at this link:

There are some really good photos of it. The overall look from certain angles reminds me of Audi's Q7.

OK This is ridicules; did Auto Spies write this little article just to piss people off?
The Camaro and the Chalenger were excellent looking and the Buick Enclave is very nice looking they should absolutely put it into production. They would sell tons.
The Chrysler Imperial was just stupid looking; it is no surprise to me that it only got 7%. If Auto Spies didn’t pump it up so much it would not have even got that. As I have said before Auto Spies need to get there nose out of Dodge/Chrysler/Mercedes and BMW,s butt.
“Not only are GM and Ford out of touch when it comes to cars but it seems the city of Detroit may be suffering from the same disease.”
Who wrote this? Why don’t you try to insult us even more? We are not Europeans so quite trying to shove there designs down our thought. This is America; Americans drive the design of automobiles. I think Americans have the best imagination and designs for automobiles.
Get a clue Auto Spies you’re the ones that are out of touch.

Got it. Not out of context. I will try my best. But when you say "Yuck". What else does it meen? To me it meens thats a bad.....
For a concept yes maybe they are playing it safe. I would hope it would be very close to the production line. I hate when they come out with a concept that looks great but the production version is hardly close. I am afraid thats what they will do with the Camaro. But probably not the Challenger.

Thanks
Steve
