Video: Ferrari vs. EVO- Who wins?

We don't know the exact specifications of the EVO, so one cannot make accurate assumptions.

However, never underestimate the urge of a small engine and a BIG turbocharger. Mid-range acceleration is where EVO's, Saab's and the like really come into their own, because the turbo has spoolled up, and so the thrust is instant.

I do feel that given a long enough straight though, the 360 would have eased passed, as the little four in the Mitsubishi would be running out of puff.

To conclude, this video does NOT suggest that the Mitsubishi EVO is better than the Ferrari 360, just that it has an advantage in a straight line. Although with the EVO's AYC (active yaw control) and 4WD system, it isn't exactly weak in the handling department.

360 sounds and looks and feels better though....

I'd rather cruise in style in an exotic than cruise in a much less expensive car looking like a typical 'rocketeer' rumbling down the street with aftermarket parts when I could have a natural rumble from the stock engine and have the police fascinated instead of pulling me over.

You guys are funny. Given the choice of being given a Ferrari 360 or a Evo...uhhh who wouldn't take the Ferrari...it's a FERRARI! But for us mere mortals with limited supplies of cash the Evo is a great weapon.

Yeah you can call it a rice rocket with a grocery cart handle on the back, etc, etc. But the little grocery cart moves...and not just in a straight line; the things handles like a shifter kart more than a grocery cart and can pull over 1G in the corners with the right tires. It's AWD so you can drive it in snow (handles awesome in snow by the way...I'd race an Enzo in snow any day of the week). And they are very modification friendly; They've used iterations of the same motor for 12 years, so you can say there's ample R & D behind it.

I have 3 friends with Ferrari's. All three have F355's, one also has a 360 Modena, and one also owns a modified Evo. My stock Evo spanks the F355's, and that's at the track too. And The modified Evo is faster to around 150MPH than the 360 Modena but starts loosing the battle to aerodynamics and the Ferrari creeps ahead.

Want to know what's not great about Ferrari's? Tune-up's cost around $10K. You know what I can do to my grocery kart w/ $10K. About 450hp (reliable) to the wheels (AWD). So don't knock'em till you've actually had the chance to try one out.

Although you pay a lot for a Ferrari when there are little cheap cars out there that are just as capable, I do understand it.

I also own Ducati's and I don't own them because they're the fastest things on two wheels, the Japanese bikes will smoke them for a lot less money, but they're Ducati's! And there's a passion that goes along with them, just like a Ferrari.
