Obama administration surprised too by GM’s decision to scrap Opel sale
General Motors Co.’s decision not to go through with the sale of its Opel unit took even the Obama administration by surprise. In an interview with Reuters, Ron Bloom, the head of the US government’s autos task force, said that they were “completely surprised.”

Bloom said that Magna International’s bid was strongly supported by the Germany government and so they anticipated that it was going to be approved.

Where is the proof that government knows how to run any business let alone the auto business. There is so much in this article that is not told. Big Greedy Government just gets in the way.

It's amazing how the anti-Obama set here find a way to spin everything. If the administration had intervened these same assholes above would have found a way to say the government is interfering and most likely use the word "socialist" or "communist", something that it seems few of them really understand. Now that the administration has kept its hands out of it there is a problem. You people would be best served by keeping your mouths shut.
