SPIED: Audi's A7 Is ALIVE And WELL, Caught Uncovered

There has been plenty of talk about a Mercedes-Benz CLS competitor from Audi for several years now, but it seemed the project had started to become stale without any new announcements or images.  Fear not, because the A7 has finally broken some cover this past week as it was spied without its coverings on.

Auto-motor-und-sport reports:

"The nearly five meters long Audi sedan is presented with a long hood and a flat windshield forthcoming. While the upper window line are more prone to the tapered rear side windows, the roof runs significantly flatter in the direction of the stern. There, presents the big, flat, also running with a tailgate spoiler. An eye-catcher: the frameless side windows...."

From what I can see, I think it's better looking than the BMW GT, regardless of whether these two are considered to be in the same segment or not.

WELL THE A7 is supposed to be the MB CLS competitor as far as what I have been reading for the past year or 2. The Audi A5 sportback is whats competing with the 5 GT....I think you need to re-check your facts....nguyenvuminh

This will be a nice addition to the Audi lineup. nguyenvuminh, I don't think the Audi A7 is a BMW 5-er GT competitor. I see this as more of a 6-series competitor.

Question: Could this be the Audi version of the VW CC which is in the 4-door sports coupe (as they call it) category? Or is this pretty much a fresh new shape that is mostly Audi? Because the VW CC actually looks pretty good and if this is the Audi version could be great.

I'm sorry, I guess I wasn't clear when I said "...regardless of whether these two are considered to be in the same segment or not.". Next time I'll type it in all caps, British English, American English, French, Spanish, etc. as well. Both are fastback/hatchback sedan design, pure and simple, and this Audi, in MY opinion, is better looking, REGARDLESS OF HOW IT IS SEEN RELATIVE TO OTHER HATCHBACK/FASTBACK DESIGNS.
