V10 stunner on the drawing board, promises 600bhp, and could be badged R10
Our amazing scoop pictures show how the Audi range is set to develop – and here’s its crowning glory. These images show one designer’s take on how a new R10 – a V10-engined flagship supercar – could look.

But this isn’t just a flight of fantasy. According to Auto Express sources, Audi is seriously considering a new supercar to sit above the acclaimed R8. It’s set to share the chassis of the forthcoming Lamborghini Murciélago replacement.

As well as a sculpted body, the car would get a mid-engined layout and a low-slung, two-seat cabin. Audi’s famous aluminium spaceframe chassis technology will be combined with carbon fibre to keep weight down and provide supreme strength.

The R10 will also be wider and longer than the R8, while four-wheel drive ensures it’s firmly planted on the road. Power is

That doesn't look like it will be nimble. Maybe just a Veyron-esque type of car. I say just build on the success of the R8 and add various changes to differentiate the R8 from the flagship R10.

if it looks anything like that rendering, Audi will become a victim of their own hubris.

If Audi does use the name R10 they had better speak with Renault first. The R10 was a car built back in the 60s. That was my father's first car. The darn thing had some serious technology for its day. 4 wheel disc brakes on an 1108cc 4 cylinder back in the 60s...

Is this Audi's answer to the LFA? It seems to go onto a similar theme in terms of concept body design.

Audi doesn't need to answer the LF-A. See the R8 V10 for details.

I agree. I'd take a R8 V10 over a LF-A any day if they were the same price let alone being a fraction of the price.

of course it's a fraction of the price. a rebadged gallardo that has already been sold 9000 units will be helluva lot cheaper than a 500 unit ground up supercar.

R8 V10 is not as fast as the LFA though. It weighs 300 pounds more and has 30 less horsepower. Do the math.

lol are you kidding AUDI's answer to the LFa. please yeah right the LFA??? all AUDI has to do is restyle a vehicle inside and out that Lamborghini has already engineered proven, and tested and voila an AUDI "supercar" the LFA was built from scratch with years of development, research, and engineering this R10 will get the R8 treatment "a restyle" lmao, competitor for the LFA what a Laugh......no respect for a here you go make into your brands version company.......

Dude! the LFA will flat out smoke the R8. Go check out some live runs for yourself. With only 552hp it's amazing but of course that's at 9000rpms, the thing runs like it has around 600hp not to mention how quick and agile it is. The sound of that V10 is terror!

"Dude!" The LF-A is vaporware at the moment. There are no "runs" to check out. When they actually build the car and run it, then we'll see. Audi cannot answer a car that doesn't even exist.

I'm not talking about which one is faster or what model its based on. I could care less, i know the LF-A is faster. If its an attractive car, a blast to drive, and incredibly fast(maybe not quite as fast), that's what I care about, and the R8 fits that bill much better than the LF-A.
