Infiniti electric vehicle set to fit performance image perfectly
Even before Infiniti’s all-electric luxury model is launched, Infiniti managers are already applauding the car for matching the performance image that they have been working on the past years. Ben Poore, Infiniti Business Unit vice president, said that the model “fits perfectly” with the performance standards that have been set for the brand. He proceeds to call it a “very cool vehicle” but then declined to provide specific details about the model.

very interesting, I'll be waiting for this car. I've been waiting for the 50 mpg BMW 520d. I'd be willing to give up a M5 type car for a efficient diesel for patriotic reasons: so that my money goes to local farmers when I run it on biodiesel, instead of venezuela, russia or middle east for oil, and of course protecting the environment in my country, the air my children breathe.

But if Infiniti can make a zero emission alternative fuel car that is fast and reasonably priced, I'd pretty much have to buy it on the spot. Not many other options in that field.

Well in that case your electric vehicle will most likely be charged by the same oil that you have wanted to avoid all along and we are frankly no better off now then we were before this whole mess. This whole electric concept is simply moving the problem from the roads to the power plants that will need to produce more it and I don't think their are "cleaner" than cars. So good luck with pure air theory.

nope, my electric vehicle will be charged by the solar panels and a vertical axis wind generator I'll put on the roof of my house.

yes, the pure air theory is already working. Air in LA now is twice as clean as it was in 1970. haven't had a smog alert in a while:-)

Yes, but the pollution and horrible corrosive chemicals needed to make and recycle the batteries that you are charging and discharging constantly are arguably worse than the fumes from the fuel you're not burning.

DinamoR... at the cost of having your own solar power/wind mill you might as well buy a second million dollar house. ffs

Virtually no electricity in the US is produced from oil.

Coal: 49%
Nuclear: 19,4%
Natural gas: 12,5%
Hydro: 7%

Half of energy sources powering electric cars is completely clean. The other half, coal fired ones, undergoes strict industrial emission controls.

Stop "thinking". It brings no result.

There is no "yes, but". Battery production is the subject of most strict pollution and emission control.

Also, batteries are recycled.

hm quick throttle and steering response for sure lol
Like I've said before, automakers can benefit the images of their vehicles greatly by making the sport modes really mean something, especially the electric vehicles that some would prefer immediate acceleration when bored and smooth acceleration when some just aren't in the mood. But wow... the exhaustion of the drivetrain would be a huge problem. Revolutionary cooling systems for sure.

a lot of the retrograde motorheads here think electric cars are merely oversized golf carts.

read the test drive of the Tesla in last month's Automobile Magazine.

it's both quiet, and a SLEEPER sportster that will embarass any musclecar. AND sportscar.

granted, the Tesla does have the advantage of having a lotus elise platform. but the fact remains, electrics CAN be sporty and FAST. the only limitation is range. but that will only increase over time. the tesla already has a 100+ mile range.

i suspect Infiniti believes anything a pipsqueek start up like Tesla can do, they can do better! it they actually can, it will truly revolutionize the auto business.
