2011 Buick Regal sedan will be built in Oshawa, Ontario
As General Motors Co. begins production of the all-new, 2011 Buick Regal sedan in Oshawa, Ontario, 600 assembly jobs will be restored. The Regal, which is based on the 2009 Opel Insignia, joins the Chevrolet Impala sedan and Chevrolet Camaro in Oshawa.

These three vehicles are on separate GM platforms. Previously, GM had announced that the range-topping CLX version of the Regal will be built in Russelsheim, Germany, in the second quarter of 2010 before shifting to a North American factory. Since June, Oshawa has been running on overtime to cope with the demand for the Camaro.

FYI, Canada also supplied bailout money to GM.

Correct, Canada paid more than its fair share of bailout $$$ for GM's survival, so why shouldn't Oshawa get the business.
As well, Oshawa has consistently won awards for having the highest quality product builds in the corporation, so Oshawa is a good pick.

@ 1UAW: That money went to the American people that managed to keep their jobs as a result. The same money that is spent fighting some dumbass war halfway around the world that is claimed to be "protecting the American people" <in my best GWB voice> is the same money that is being spent to put food on American tables. Which would you prefer? The Toyota and Honda workers who kept their jobs have just as much right to survive as the UAW-paying workers who received a bail out as well. Selfishness, not crime, violence, or H1N1 is the new American plague. I warn you and that half-wit Enforcement above to check yourselves. America cannot handle tribalism. It was not founded on that principle and if you continue, America will fail. Think its impossible? Check your history books. Look under Egyptian Empire, Roman Empire, British Empire...

I mean don't they have an over capacity in the USA? Can't GM make the Regal here? I mean it would be nice to buy an American car built in America! To bad a lot are made in Canada and Mexico to save on health care coasts. I like the regal and hope someone makes a chip to up the boost!
