Are these the first pics of the new Lexus ES?

The interior pic is a photoshop job....the two dials...one is the reverse of the other as well as down the central dash. What I don't understand is where does the ES fit into the Lexus lineup? I mean the IS is now the 3-series/C-CLass fighter...The GS is 5 series, etc....where does this car fit in? Seems redundant to me.

this car is a tarted up Camry? I know it uses most if its chassis and such...

Hey AtomicBra the Camry is a damn good base to build another vehicle on - I bet Ford, GM, Chrysler, Nissan, would love to have something so perfect for the US market.

The current ES is not very attractive (compared to Merc C-class, Volvos, Acura TL, etc.) so I am hoping the new one will have an edgier design - photos above don't give enough information - but from what I see, Lexus may be making the new ES too bland.

that the Camry was not a good car, just said that the ES is a Camry in drag.... I have read two reviews on the new Camry and they say excellent build quality, but numb handling and kind of a boring drive. Just wondered if the ES would be the same way. I think the IS is one nice ride....I just feel it is silly to have the ES. If people want a luxurious Camry, than option out your Camry. I think that is the problem with Lexus....they want to be BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Buick, Cadillac and all rolled up into one.

Since there is no direct competitor to this car from BMW MB, wonder if this car will still be bashed by the BMW and MB fans b/c it's a lexus??

Their sales figures are not a problem for them especially on this model which BTW is not appealing to me whatsoever but sells like hotcakes.

Guess what, it is a Photoshop job. That one is my favorite Lexus.
When I was in the US I saw the ES the first time and I really loved this car cause it is not available in Germany, only by import.

The front as its own design, but looks quite similar to the IS, so you can say it's its big brother...
Interieur looks nice too, nothing special, typical Lexus style.

what is the point of this vehicle? The Camry would be much less expensive, yet just as nice.... I guess it is just for those people who want a Lexus but can't be seen in a Toyota? Just a guess.....

Yes, a lexus is a toyota theoretically, but there is so much more to it than just the name "lexus". The type of service/experience at a dealership; try comparing a trip to a toyota dealership with a trip to the lexus dealership and you will see that the treatment you get at the Lexus dealership far exceedes that of a Toyota dealership. Quality of material; Lexus uses much higher quality leather and wood for a more comfortable/luxurious ride, has more advanced technology, standard features are more than standard and pay closer attention to all the little details that ensures the driver is enjoying his/her drive.

Like I originally said....this car is a tarted up Camry....With better Customer service from the dealership...Well no matter, I do not like the car. I would rather have an IS (rear wheel drive)if I were to buy any Lexus vehicles

I'll wait to see this ES on the road, but I'm a little disappointed - it looks angular and fragile above the waistline; while its bloated and heavy below the waistline - were there two different design teams working on it. Although I am no fan of the 3 series I suspect ten years from now it will still look ok while this new ES will look like a bar of soap.

For the same money I would rather suck it up and interact with Toyota's horrendous dealer attitudes [as opposed to Lexus's good dealers] and buy a loaded Avalon. Thank you Toyota for offering a choice of vehicles!
