Jaguar Land Rover preparing to make its cars greener than ever
For Jaguar Land Rover to be a sustainable business, it must adapt to the needs of the changing global economy and society and “attack emissions like never before,” according to owner Tata Motors’s vice chairman Ravi Kant.

At the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders International Automotive Summit, Kant was a speaker and he warned UK carmakers in Birmingham and Liverpool that they may get the same fate as the big 3 companies in Detroit if they don’t adapt. Kant explained that this is JLR’s motivation in pursuing a major transformation plan. The new XJ is as beautiful as it is fuel-efficient.

Good for JLR. Someone is smart enough to know that only those who adapt survive, unlike 50% of USA

A bit too much green speak, the latest Land Rovers have some of the lowest fuel economy ratings out there. Jaguars are somewhat better, but it's a joke to claim so much when your cars are the opposite.

"...latest Land Rovers have some of the lowest fuel economy ratings out there."

-They also have the most luxurious, most capable utility vehicles on the planet.

Whats your point?

Yet they are claiming to be leaders in being green. I don't care about their fuel economy, but it's a joke to proclaim anything about them being leaders in that category.

They way of becoming "greaner" involves building a smaller Land Rover, something the competition already does. In other words they are behind.
