Dear 001,

This M-5 customer called me a couple hours after rolling this brand new 2006 M-5 4 times.

The deputy who responded to the accident asked where the body of the driver was at. The deputy become aggitated when the driver who was standing there with not a scratch on him responded that he was the driver.

The deputy thought he was playing with him. The deputy's aggrevation grew when another man who was standing there vouched for him as being the driver of the M-5. The deputy then asked the man who he was and did he see the accident. The man advised the deputy that he was the passenger of the M-5. Neither of the men had a scratch on them. Our client is bragging to everyone he meets as to the engineering abilities that his BMW has that kept them safe.

This is one of the biggest reasons I love my BMW.

They provide such security.

The security to avoid an accident with their phenomenal handling and acceleration.

And the security in case something like this happens.

This is where the build quality of the Germans clearly shows.

They are made to withstand accidents at very high speeds.

And yes, they are worth EVERY PENNY.

Is anyone else getting them?

They are really annoying.

And, I don't think that the M5 was responsible for that crash.

I'd say excessive speed, and an inexperienced driver. ESP was probably switched off too.

What did the driver do to roll the car like that? This sounds fishy to me. We have a MB so I believe the germans make a good product but its hard to believe that the car flipped 4 or 5 times and the passengers were out, walking around and coherent when the cops came. I gotta call Bullsh...you know the rest.

Looks like someone can get a sweet 10 cylinder engine cheap and maybe a transmission, if that didn't get torque'd.

For driving up the insurance premiums for everyone else who owns one of these. There can't be many of these cars on the road yet so as a percentage of accidents/totals per carline, the premiums just went up significantly for this model. I'm sure all sensible M5 owners thank you.

It must be BS. One would think the a BMW "Director of Customer Relations" would know how to spell. I can almost excuse misspelling "aggravation," but not "M5"!

You misread that. He is the "Director of Customer Relations" at BMW of Austin. That means he works at a dealership and makes phonecalls all day. You don't have to be THAT smart, or know jack about BMW's to do that.

Glad no one was hurt. As an E34 owner, I noticed that that the car is no uglier now that before the accident. I guess that is better than a Tribeca, which would have been improved.
