WORLD EXCLUSIVE: First REAL Shots Of The All New 2011 Audi A8 Flagship
After a long-anticipated debut, the 2011 Audi A8 has been unveiled. With initial speculation pointing towards a design that would mirror the A4 and feature more LEDs than a Christmas tree, would you say that the assumptions have been spot on? Was the spy video we featured in our video gallery a better indicator?
Better yet, is this as "evolutionary" as you expected? It is a clear departure from last generation's A8 and the current sedan line up. Do you want an A8 more than a 7-Series or S-Class now?
001 has sent us these initial photographs just NOW to show you the latest and greatest from Audi.
Weigh in and don't be gentle.

Prediction: The first two Audi A8 generations were conservative and safe. This one will be an aggressive assault on the BMW 7 and Mercedes S, and will give them a serious run for their money. Of course, I could be wrong. Still waiting to see...

judging by the live unveiling I just saw on another site it looks like what I thought and anyone else thats seen "Audi's version of Progress" it looks like the current model with a new front and rear, and a restyled interior a bigger A4......how predictable..errr progessive

Chrome wheels!? Ouch. Come on Audi, leave those to GM. Looks like a Cadillac for Piech's Sake.

Agreed on the chrome wheels--as dated as altezza tail lights. The car looks nice in general, but the front looks a wee bit chunky from what I could see. I was hoping for the beveled grill featured on the A7 Sportback concept. Looking forward to seeing it in person for a real perspective.

The real car still hasn't been shown but it's obvious how it is going to look.

Initial impressions: disappointed. Front overhang is to big. Rear bumper too Camry...

The interior is AMAZING!!!!! The BMW 7-series and even the Mercedes-Benz S-class will be no match for this brilliant new Audi A8.

IMO when I first looked at it, the lines of the car were a tad shapeless.

Will they didn't take any risk on the exterior. Come on Audi "pop up navigation" on a flagship car, real down scale.

I made the same comment on another article I feel you on that. it reminds me of the first aftermarket pop out screens where they come out flat and then pop-up to a 90 degree angle.....lolollol....but you have a point

Same idiots that fell for the "Angel eyes" crap will fall for this LED gimmick. They'll buy the car for the lights. A8 appears to be nicely done. Everything runs in cycles people. What used to MB (80's - mid 90's), BMW (Mid 90's - present), Now Audi. All my band wagoner friends have jumped on the Audi train. Not hatin'.

ew. exterior looks like a facelifted A8/big A4 and interior is way too overdone

Hey, I just noticed there are a bunch of Aud-haters on this list, and definitely on this thread. Anything positive about Audi got voted down, and anything negative got voted up. I wonder if it's the BMW Famboiz at work?
Anyway, I own 2 BMWs (100% Bangle-free), and I love 'em both. I give Audi's style, inside and out, two thumbs up, even though I'd prefer a much smaller nose overhang, and no "iDrive/MMI" thingie.
Bring it on, Fanboiz! How low will THIS one go? :-D

I'm with you Steve. A lot of de-boosting without comments. Certainly the work of Audi haters who somehow feel threatened by what Audi is doing and they have no way of stopping it.

First impression: The car is not looking very big like most of it's competitors. Will have to see in person for better judgement but looks smallish and also so much like an enlarged A4.
Wasn't expecting very different and revolutionary design from Audi but this looks too much like cheaper siblings.

Well my favorite is the S but honestly, I like this more than the S for clean side, inside it looks great for me it is even with the 7 series inside, outside it looks a lot better than the 7 series and better than the S but the front didn't like me...MB have a better front. My overall perception is that the car is an evolution, not a revolution. But it looks very nice to fight in this class, but they have to offer better engines cause MB and BMW have better options right now. Finaly the beauty is in the eyes of the beholder....Kudos to AUDI.
