2010 Vw Amarok: first official pictures
This is the brand new Vw Amarok, a new pick-up from the German manufacturer which will make its official debut in Europe by mid-2010. As you may know already, the new Amarok will be the official support vehicle for the 2010 Dakar Rally held in Argentina, and promises to be quite a competitor for the Japanese and American pick-ups.

Based on the Vw Pickup Concept showed back in 2008, the new vehicle will offer three trim levels: Trendline, Comfortline and Highline.

Actually! NEVER MIND!
Why is it a pick up? it should be more like a new version of the Tiguan (replacing it) offeres in 3 door or 5 door version.

Pick up is just horrible. nice front!

At first I commented on the awful near-Ridgeline-like looks. I was wrong. This is actually quite nice. And better still, people, look between the bed and the cabin. There's a gap. That gap tends to indicate that we have a proper truck platform under there. That means that this thing may very well be a true pickup after all. I will be the first to say that if this engine does in fact get to US shores (which I suspect it will if VW takes it to the US any at all) it will create a new genre that will have all the other light truck manufacturers scrambling for an entry.
