Audi Struggles To Be Up 0.3% In November - Extends Lead Over Infiniti For Year
Audi today reported November U.S. sales of 6,810 luxury performance cars and SUVs, a result that maintained the Audi share of U.S. imported luxury vehicle sale at record levels so far this year.

Through the first 11 months of the year, the Audi share of the imported luxury car market in the U.S. stood at 8.3% compared to 7% from a year earlier, based on preliminary industry sales reports. For the month of November 2009, the Audi share also stood at 8.3%.

November sales of the Audi Q5 and S4 models were strong. The popular Q5 crossover achieved 1,509 sales in November, exceeding the record set in August 2009. The S4 sedan also saw its best month since its September 2009 launch.

Audi also enjoyed another positive month for its TDI ® clean diesel offerings. Sales of the much-anticipated A3 TDI began in the month. With an EPA estimated 42 MPG highway mileage, it achieves the best fuel-economy of any luxury car in the U.S. For November, TDI models made up 43% of all A3 sales.

The Q7 TDI experienced a strong consumer response that elevated the TDI mix of Q7 sales to 46%, notably impressive in light of tight inventories.

“Consumers’ reception to our newer models, including the Q5 and S4 sedan has proven nothing short of enthusiastic, which affirms that our design and engineering efforts were precisely on target,” said Johan de Nysschen, President, Audi of America. “We are encouraged by these latest sales figures and have an optimistic outlook on the coming months.”

Audi A5 Coupe and Cabriolet sales of 1,074 cars made November the second-best month of 2009 for that popular model line.

Audi Certified Pre-Owned Sales for November were 1,535 for the month, bringing year-to-date CPO sales to 26,439.

You just couldn't resist taking a jibe at Infiniti could you? However, what's truly laughable is the fact that even though the R8 5.2 has been released, they could only muster a total of 56 units. That's pathetic lol.
Let's not forget to mention that the TT sold a whopping 117 units.

I love the way you try to put a spin on any negative news pertaining to Audi, but that is your prerogative. I say this in the nicest possible way.

Infiniti fans had no problem jabbing Audi for equipping their cars with lowly 4-cylinder engines. But as soon as gas skyrocketed and Infiniti's thirsty V6 motors made their sales evaporate to nothing.

Audi's wisdom (or luck)now became clearly an advantage. Now that Infiniti is grappling with those issues and added problem of inherent of their customer base buying other product, it is high time Audi fanboys get their chance to kick some sand.

The headline should have read , "Should Audi withdraw the TT and R8 from the U.S. market based on their miniscule sales?"

What is sad is that they sold more R8's last November then they did Audi TT's this November. I would never have thought the TT would be that big of a flop.

Hey dhkss2002, Nissan didn't even have the guts to brand the GT-R as an infiniti. So, stop whining about the R8 which has clearly been a winner for Audi in the supercar sector.
