LA AUTO SHOW: How Much Would YOU Pay For A Lexus LF-Ch?

LA AUTO SHOW: How Much Would YOU Pay For A Lexus LF-Ch?
Lexus has some serious tricks up its sleeve. This is pretty clear after seeing the brand's latest and greatest at the 2009 LA Auto Show. What do I mean? Simple: it is not the one-man-band type of firm that many car geeks and journalists thought all along. More than ever, Lexus is churning out exciting products.

But this is not about the sensory overload, jaw-dropping LF-A. No, no, no. This is about something FAR more intriguing; the LF-Ch.

A car that was created just to show what Lexus could bring to consumers in a different hybrid segment, it is certainly an aggressive looking machine. Painted in a robust yellow hue and squinted angry eyes, this Lexus boasts large air intakes and a "slammed" appearance. It looks as though this is Lexus' take on a hybrid F-model.

The best line on this car? The long, sweeping roof line that has a BMW-esque Hofmeister kink at the C-pillar.

More importantly, there is one overwhelming question with this car: how much would YOU pay for something like this?

With fully-loaded Toyota Prius' pushing $35,000 and Lexus' HS250h base price starting around that area, where do you see a LF-Ch fitting in?

Let us know! We want to hear your thoughts, SPIES!

Nice frustrated comment. You only forgot to mention that 1-series idea is completely useless.

1er drives well. That's it. Its only advantage. Beside that, is has virtually no back seats, even less boot space, is seriously uncomfortable and so-so finished. Also ugly (little piglet), but that's personal matter.

What's the point of the 1 series then if one can get some convertibles/coupes that drive even better, look definitely much better, are just as useless at anything else and cost much less? Like, say, Mazda MX-5 Miata or RX-8.

=========================
Price of the LF-Ch? Competitive should it be. Lexus is not about praying to the overpriced badge. Please also bump the hybrid mileage.

But there is something much more important with this car. It has to KEEP ITS REVOLUTIONARY, RADICAL STYLING. Just minor milding of the spoilers, nothing else has to be done.

Lexus needs to test how customers react. How many new ones could it bring by going the brave, rather than safe way.

-series idea is completely useless.

So you’ve never drive the 1er

“1er drives well.”

Having put lots of miles on the 1er, it is a blast to drive, has received rave reviews and for me the drive is the most important part. I am a driving enthusiast first and a car enthusiast second.

“is seriously uncomfortable”

For me the interior fits like a glove, opt for the sport seats.

Mazda MX-5 Miata
Back seat, 300 BHP

RX-8.

300 Bhp, tourque.

Faster than both.

=========================
"REVOLUTIONARY, RADICAL STYLING."

What radical, it’s a warmed over two box design and It looks like a Mazda 3, The question is why buy this over the Mazda. The only advantage is see it’s more tarted up than the Mazda.

This looks far better than that disaster of a 1-series. If they can make it perform and handle well, I would hope its typically priced under BMW's so I could actually afford one.

While I don't really like the way this looks, I have to agree in that it definetly looks better than the 1-series, however, that really is not that hard to do.

At least $5K less than an IS250. Unless it can go back in time and runs on rotting biomass.

I would pay the Camry price range for that. It doesn't even look the part of a luxury car let alone that ugly color that no luxury brand carries in their lineup. Radical colors only look good on a Carrera GT, Ferrari's and Lamborghini's not a brand like Lexus.. And get that stinkin' blue Lexus logo out!. It's looking too Toyota-ish (economy).

One, the color is for the concept. I'm sure there will be other colors available. Two, there are no blue logos on Toyotas. The blue logos are exclusive to Lexus hybrids.

People seem to have no problem paying for the HS250h, which is probably around the same demographic that this car would be aiming for.

$25K to $35K for the fully loaded package. I wouldn't mind seeing coupe and sedan variants.

Gold with PURPLE interior accents?...Even Color Blindness can't explain this thing away.

Sorry, but this THING doesn't do ANYTHING for me at ANY price.

Looks like "Lexus meets Scion"..

you would have to pay me, a lot, to drive this. So my answer is $0.
How can anyone say the 1 series is ugly? Have any of you actually drive one? Its a fun pocket rocket and when you see the vehicle is motion, its even better looking. go see it in real life, not just pics.
