LA AUTO SHOW WORLD EXCLUSIVE: First Shots EVER Of Audi's E-Tron On The Streets!
While all of the other guys are rushing to their laptops to upload images of the latest Kia Sorrento, we have been working on something a bit more interesting.
So, we have all seen what Audi's latest green sensation looks like on the convention hall floors and in pictures at press debuts.
001 found something MUCH better. Pictures of the E-tron, in the flesh and on PUBLIC roads!
Can you imagine seeing this coming towards you in New York City or cruisin' down your local boulevard? It is absolutely astonishing in the REAL WORLD.
And finally, some real life photographs of the interior! A nice look into a contemporary, minimalist design with a focus on top-notch craftsmanship.
Note: the car is riding on the 2010 R8 V10 rims.

A pretty but pointless car. Wow, talk about blind spots, hate to back this thing up.

Pointless with respect to what? Really, I'm not sure what you mean as there seems to be a great deal of enthusiasm for this car.

Pointless in the fact that it is a six figure electric car. 100 k+ cars that are electric or hybrids are just exercises in engineering. You’re paying extra for ashort driving ranges and a lot of extra weight. The emission may make you feel better but that’s about it, ergo pointless.

Nissan new Leaf is a far better execution of the new electric car than is Audi, it’s a car built for the masses. Apart from an absolutely stunning exterior and equally gorgeous interior it really offers little more than the Telsa sport car. Audi is currently back-pedaling for the 3319 lb-ft of torque claim to the real world numbers. Automobile estimates the e-tron makes about 252 lb-ft of torque, or a bit less than the Tesla Roadster's 273 lb-ft.
It’s not only Audi but BMW, Lexus and Porsche, offering six figure hybrids’ which are little more than corporate masturbation. For real pioneers in hybrid technology look no further than the Prius or the brilliant Ford Fusion, and the future Chevy volt and VW Up. Currently were a in the midst of trickle up technology than trickle down. I stand by my statement; the Audi e-tron is beautiful but pointless.

needs advanced technology called a rear window.

Remember: this is a concept.
Just like the lacking rear window, the video camera side mirrors will not make an appearance on a production variant.

They could mount a flat screen centered behind the seats and adapt a rear camera to show the back when you are in Reverse or driving. It could be used for blind spot recognition and parking.

does that concept have an actual working drivetrain? And if so, is it the one they said the car could/would have when they originally showed the concept?
