VW To Build a Jetta Coupe?
Volkswagen is considering building a Jetta coupe with a concept version to gauge public opinion coming in the near future. While VW hasn't confirmed the Jetta coupe, it is on the record as saying that it wants to build a two door coupe that would measure around 180 inches in length. The size requirements would make the Jetta sedan a reasonable platform donor. If produced, the Jetta coupe would compete with vehicles such as the Honda Civic Coupe, Scion tC and Kia Forte Koup.

Given that the retractable/hardtop VW EOS Coupe is already built on the Jetta/Golf platform, many would understand that model to effectively be the 'coupe' of the group, but I guess there's always room for more.

Additionally: I seriously doubt that the (proposed) Jetta Coupe will be reverting back to previous designs(as pictured) - LOL

The proposed new coupe would be significantly cheaper than than Eos so there is definitely room for it in the lineup. Pictured is the MKIV Jetta coupe concept just for reference, I believe the last time that VW actually sold a Jetta coupe was with the MKII.

Am I sensing a spiritual successor to the Corrado? That would be something special now wouldn't it? the 'Shopped image above may be fairly well done, but I hope VW does something a bit more exciting than just delete two doors and lengthen the remaining pair.

That's a bad photoshop you can tell it was a simple cut and stamp. As for a Jetta Coupe, it's been long overdue, but VW was always scared it would move in on 2 door hatch sales. But why would they care about that when they already encroach on Audi with the pricing of their models.

There was a tuning magazine that took an older Jetta like the one above and made it a TRUE two door and it looked really good. Unfortunately for VW there current Jetta is un-deserving of a GLI badge or any sporty upgrades. They lost that appeal when they redesigned it to be a mini-passat.

That's not a photoshop, VW built that Jetta coupe concept a few years ago, and I wish it went into production.
