SPIED: BMW's 2011 5-Series Wagon Steps Out
If you liked BMW's latest iteration of the 5-series, the all-new 2011 F10, then you will certainly like what we can make out of the all-new wagon.
Interestingly enough, the wagon variant has not been killed off, as expected, due to the arrival of the 5-Series GT. So, where does that slot in the 5GT if the wagon will co-exist?
Will they import it the the U.S.? Who knows at this point.
Good question though: if you were in the market for a vehicle and you required the utmost utility, would you pick up the 5GT OR 5-Series wagon?

Man, this thing looks plain. Talk about safe.

It may be a safe design....StickShiftCamry... but dont get anything twisted like BMW never went outside the box look at the currrent 5 series i didnt like it until i seen it in person that was a complete re-make of the 5 and the 2002-2008 7 series for that matter another design where they went outside the box and everybody loved it and dont forget the 6 series and X6.
So for BMW to play it safe for the current 5er thats fine because almost evrything they did prior to this new 5 is far from bneing a safe design.

I do not understand why, the sedan looks great but the wagon looks too bland...

If there will be a regular wagon (perhaps a smart decision), then why will there be the 5 Series GT AND the X6? It's becoming increasingly difficult to justify these variations from several car companies today.

I didnt want to post but I felt as if BMW could debut a Wagon/GT/Sedan/etc I could and get away with it...

I agree with yonder7, the design on the sedan didn't transfer very well into the station wagon (and I personally like station wagon).
I also agree with dotuno's sentiment. I think the marketing guys are getting out of control in coming up with new market segments.
