Dodge Challenger, The Best LOVED Car By Its Owners? You Better Believe It...
The Dodge Challenger, the Chrysler Group's retro-styled muscle car, is the car best loved by its owners, according to Consumer Reports' survey of 380,000 readers of its magazine and Web site.

"Ninety-two percent of Challenger owners said they would definitely buy another one given the same opportunity," reads an article in the influential magazine's January issue.

The Ford Fusion Hybrid ranked second in the magazine's "Predicted Owner Satisfaction" survey, with 91% of owners saying they would buy another. The Prius dropped to fifth place in the survey this year, behind the Chevrolet Corvette and Porsche 911.

The survey -- which asks car owners "considering all factors (price, performance, reliability, comfort, enjoyment, etc.)...

hmmm... makes sense when you think about what the typical Challenger buyer would be.

I agree Joe....Someone that likes a nice riding retro car that seats 5 has a nice 25-7 mpg V-6 to a 425 horse Hemi with a 6-speed. The aftermarket has embraced this car with a multitude of superchargers, turbos, body kits and hotrod accessories. Likes to not only drag race but road race with one of the best looking cars from the 1970s. Also a drag/race car package that is 3200 lbs for those that are serious. Cool colors. The next gen will have the pen world V6 that will get close to 30 mpg and another V6 version having twin turbos at 400 hp and the SRT will have the 6.4 525 horse hemi. Thanks for the compliment

Basically... take the opposite of a Camry Driver and surprise them with a reliable benz platform and decent fuel economy.

A Camry V6SE is as fast as the 5.7L and handles better. But I wanted to get a Challenger (5.7L w/ manual trans.) but Chrysler stopped leasing - and I'm under 30, love the Challenger.

What this proves is what I have always said. Numbers alone cannot prove how popular a car will be. The number says it should be average to somewhat of a disappointment. But reality says that their owners are satisfied, quirks and all. I could think of quite a few European and Japanese cars that would fit nicely into that category too...

I was going to double back on his comment but I did the math in my own head and then pretended I didnt read his post in the first place.

You had to do the math in your own head? It's common sense!

Hmm, ^^ quite emotional. So a car that has 2 extra cylinders and more than 2 extra litres can't even get one car length ahead? We have 1 Charger 5.7 and 1 300c within in the relatives circle - I always use them, in a stomp contest, the 5.7s just hang with the Camry 3.5, sorry. The sad thing is Toyota put a very good motor (3.5L) in a common boring type car - Ford did a good job by putting turbos but look at the price tag on the SHO, it's still only as quick as the N/A Toyota 3.5. Outta the box a 3.5camry does less than 5.7sec 0-60 and it holds the gears, when u leave it at 5,600 rpm, it stays there.
