Range Rover Sport hybrid will emit just 100g/km of CO2
Land Rover says that the Range Rover Sport hybrid that it is currently developing will be tested next year and will be launched in 2012. Land Rover claims that this hybrid emits only 100g/km of CO2 and offers an electric-only range of up to 20 miles.

By next year, the company would have a fleet of up to five prototypes start shakedown tests ahead the launch. If the carmaker is able to achieve emissions this low, it would be considered a remarkable breakthrough and could elevate the Range Rover Sport’s carbon emissions onto an equal footing with those of smaller, lighter vehicles like the Citroën C1 and Ford Focus Econetic.

g/km of CO2... what a useless number, make your car run rich and you'll lower that number many times over by producing more CO instead of CO2...

Except that emission standards only allow .5 of a gram of C0 per kilometer.

Still what's wrong with CO2? You breathe it out and plants flourish when there are excess amounts of it.

Another useless fuel economy/emission figure from a plug-in hybrid. They can advertise zero emission and it's still true... as long as you read the disclaimer of "up to 20 miles".

Not to be a cynical but as bad as these cars are on reliability why would you even waste your time with a hybrid, an unreliable car with more technology to go wrong???? yeah ill pass electronics are not their strong suit

I'd have to disagree with you on your premise. We own a 2006 RR Sport and a 2006 LR3 HSE, both vehicles are awesome. We have had no problems at all. Plus, The 2010 are just plain kick a$$! Believe me, you can't get a more luxurious and versatile vehicles for the money. Land Rovers are fantastic values. If you can afford to own one, you would, bottom line. Even if there is a 'problem', our dealer gives you another Land Rover to drive, so what would be your issue? I sure don't see any down side. I wish Land Rover would bring diesels over to the USA, they would really move off the lots.
