Porsche preparing lightweight version of the Cayman
If you liked the Porsche Boxster Spyder, then you’ll definitely be interested in this: the German manufacturer is currently preparing a lightweight version of the Cayman, the brother of the Boxster.

For those who don’t know, the Boxster Spyder has a total weight of just 1275 kg, but some features were removed or replaced with lighter ones, such as: the radio (3 kg), air conditioning (13 kg), chairs (12 kg), tank (7 kg) and wheels (5 kg).

Nice. I really want to see how much AUDI can extract/learn from Porsche so they'll be 'admitted' onto my shopping list for next car.

They will be able to learn a lot from Porsche's dynamics. It can give a sportier edge to all sporty Audi's throughout the lineup that's for sure. As for a lighter Cayman it only means it can perform even better for such a small car. The Cayman S is one of my favorite Porsche's besides the turbo and the gt3rs.
