AUTO SPIES WORLD EXCLUSIVE: Hot news on the 2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Even though it's still a few years off, the Spies are already getting bits and pieces of details on the next Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Not only will this be the first Mercedes that will mimic some queues from LEXUS but it will also sport a virtually identical dash/nav layout as the 2007 S-Class.

Night view assist and Distronic 2.0 will be available AND we're told that the next AMG model will be more differentiated (exterior AND interior)than in the past.

We hear it will surface at next year's Geneva motor show and debut as a 2009 model.

What? Have you seen the new E-Class? How on earth can you make that assumption?

And isn't L-Finesse one of the students from Bangle's school of Flame Surfacing?

And how does this artist's impression mimic Lexus? It looks pure Mercedes-Benz to me, albeit with some sharper edges.

Mercedes-Benz has the art of creating trends, not mimicking them.

But I do have an eye for design, and unlike many on this site, don't jump to the conclusion that one car has copied another simply because of a few vaguely similiar features, ie. headlights.

If the interior is the same as the S-Class, you might as well go buy another BMW......since over half of that ugly car is designed from the 7-Series.

The front end does kinda look like a GS but its different enough.

That pic is a Photoshop work up....The fron end IS of the GS it was incorporated into the photo of the disguised car. I work in Photoshop everyday at my job and can safely say this is not the final car. My inside source says look for the front to look more like the s-class, not this GS mock up. In this article it even says its an artist's interpretation.
