Audi hopes to boost its sales when it will launch the A7 sedan
With the addition of the A7 to its lineup in 2011, Audi of America hopes to boost annual sales of top-line sedans to 10,000 units, says President Johan de Nysschen. The restyled A8 will arrive in November 2010 while the A7 – a four-door with coupe styling – will follow nine months after.

The new A8 was unveiled just last week but so far, the A7 has only been seen in concept form. De Nysschen believes that in a full year, the carmaker could sell up to 5,000 new A8s and as many A7s. For this year, de Nysschen thinks that 3,500 units of the current A8 will be sold.

If Americans buy a luxury hatchback this will be it(best looking hatchback ever). If they don't buy it Europe should bail on hatchbacks for these shores forever.

Says much about your business when you have to hope for sales boost from an extremely niche product.

I have seen the production A8 and the production final A7 in person. The A7 is absolutely stunning. Period. The strategy makes sense..A8 customers are conservative..and the new A8 fits that bill. The A7 will get the customers who want soemthing more youthful and edgy. That said...the A8 looks better in person than pics convey..and the interior is gorgeous.

I think the A7 will do waaaaaaaaaaaayyy better than the A8. To me the 2011 A8 is just a refresh of the previous model and its already showing its age from the pics i seen last week. i have to say i am not impressed with that car at all it looks like no thought went into the complete design of the new A8.
