Is Your Pride And Joy Really Safe When That Clean Cut Valet Guy Takes The Keys?
Agent001 just passed me a tip you just have to see.
You go to a nice hotel for an evening out with your friends. You give the keys to your car to the clean cut and courteous valet attendant and off you go knowing your pride and joy is safe in the hands of this fine young gentleman.
After all you are in the heart of the bible belt and this is a respectable hotel....
Or is it?
Check out this video of what happens in the garage as your are enjoying your expensive dinner Hyatt in St. Louis.
The hotel is claiming that they have already fired the valet company behind the videos….but would that be enough to calm you down if one of these was YOUR car????

There's really no way to know how your vehicle will be treated in these situations...
That why I have extremely comprehensive insurance with zero deductible on each and every one of my vehicles.

The reality is, in this day and age no one has respect for any property.
If you leave your keys with someone, you're always taking a chance.

I'll never leave my car with a Valet. And if I'm in a situation that requires a valet. I'll park in public parking.

I'll second that. I live in Boston, where parking practically doesn't exist so when you go out you almost have to valet, or walk from a garage.
I walk from the garage.

Being a former valet I can testify that you do NOT want to valet your car in most situations.....

I grew up in Vegas and had several friends who were valets at the big hotels.
Short answer to this question: hell no.
But my friends did have some great stories to tell. Things like employees of the Four Seasons at Mandalay Bay racing Turbo Porsches vs. Vettes down the Southern end of the strip. Giving out the wrong rental cars to people. Losing keys.
If you do valet in Vegas, be sure to inspect your car before you leave!

i will never ever let a valet park my car. i have been in situations where a valet parking was a must(at some stupid club) and i parked at the closest store. unless its junk car, i will never go through valet parking.

I'd rather self-park my vehicle...thank you very much.

At least these valets drive them the way they were designed to be driven. Not that I condone it but most of the people who drive nice exotic cars or powerful luxury performance autos do one thing with them. Drive at or below the speed limit. Not everyone, but a high majority. Don't buy it if your not gonna drive it the way it was intended. It's nice to see a Ferrari on the highway, but not while I'm passing it in my Matrix. Do something cool, take off, rev up, downshift and give me a thrill. Instead it cruises in the slow lane lamely. At a light downtown in your Porsche GT3 or Vette Z06, rev up and let people know and hear the car. And the light goes green...and...and..."BEEP" c'mon and actually drive the car or move over if your too scared to hit the gas pedal.
Sorry I just get frustrated seeing such nice cars driven like 80 year old women are at the wheel. If I had one I'd be a kid in a candy store. Not all the time but you know people are watching.
