Kia Forte Koup to receive turbocharged four-cylinder engine by 2012
For those who don’t know, Kia Forte Koup was unveiled at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show and made quite a buzz, but what we will gonna tell you it’s going to be more interested. There are two engine configurations available; there’s even speculation that a turbocharged option is next.

Tom Loveless, vice president of sales for Kia Motors America, said that a turbocharged four-cylinder will most likely be offered on model year 2012 but specific details are yet to be disclosed. Powering the Koup is a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine that generates 156 hp and 144 lb-ft of torque. The SX trim also includes a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder powerplant with a higher final output: 173 horsepower and 168 lb-ft of torque.

I like it. A turbo in 2012 does seem like a late entry, though.
