This type of interior doesnt work in a Lexus.

In an M BMW, S Audi, or AMG Benz sure.

But this looks like a total afterthought.

Suede inserts actually kind of suck because the wear so quickly.

I had the suede wheel on my BMW removed because it got so dirty and worn quickly.

But this type of sporting interior looks awful on this car.

DOes this interior look bad in a Lexus but not in a BMW, MB or Audi, ContiRoane? I mean I love BMW and Audi, but the Lexus IS is a very decent car and drives really well....I think this is a nice complement to a fine vehicle. With properly treated suede (Alacantra?) it would last just as well as leather that cracks with age....I am a usual diehard German car lover, but this is the first Japanese car to make me think that I could actually buy it. The color of this one is awesome and I like the interior...

I love that color exterior. The interior is cool, but if I were buying I would want all leather seats, I think two toned leather might look nice, as ContiRoane stated the suede would get dirty and be hard to clean up.

YES, thats to my liking. Nice photoshop.

But I dont think the suede works as well on a Luxury scale.

The alcantara trim is very very sporty.

I dont think of sporty when I think of Lexus.

I really like the exterior color but dislike the inside.

Its a little much for my taste.

And the suede DOES NOT hold up as well as leather.

I speak from experience on that one.

If Lexus ever gets around to their rumored performance divison (M,S,AMG) then this would work.

Putting a flashy, sporty interior in a regular old Benz or BMW would look odd too.

You have to be able to back up this demeanor.

In my opinion, Lexus cannot.

Even with a great paint job and suede seats. Thats not enough.

The wheel and dash are very 97 Maxima.

I personally love this color. It looks great on a Lexus, BMW, Audi, MB, whatever. The ultrasuede (Alcantara) seat inserts give it that little extra show car or custom look that makes just about any car stand out in a crowd of plain old Beige/Black/Gray interiors.

Now, I'm sure it's no mystery to anyone out there as to what brand I am biased toward or indeed work for, but the lack of color is way too common in the high end car business. It is well known that the color Silver makes up the vast majority of all German production. This is partially based on German racing history I know, but...... I think it is about 30% +/- of all German brands. The second most popular color is Black at about 20% +/-. The third most popular color is some form of Gray at about 15% +/-. If German car dealers did nothing but stock these 3 colors (most do) they wouldn't miss much business. The S4 is available in a very similar color called Sprint Blue. A few years ago, you could order one in the nonpearlecent Nagaro Blue with the Blue Alcantara seat inserts just as you see in the above Lexus. I personally loved those seats. Audi dropped them due to lack of interest in the US. As a result, there are only a handfull around.

My own personal observation is that buyers of these cars tend to be so extremely conservative that they appear almost afraid of color! They probably have nothing but white walls on the inside of their homes. Okay, maybe Beige. Why do people fear color so much?

I have a teenage daughter that comes home almost every day complaining that someone at school made fun of her for not wearing a particular brand name or color that's in style right now. They really make her feel bad sometimes. Some local schools make the students wear uniforms for this very reason. Most are Black and White outfits or Khaki and White. Is there something rebellious about color? I don't understand the source of the ridicule.

Is it this fear, rooted in our early teen years, that keep people from enjoying color their lives? A leasing company doesn't care what color the car is, so why not splurge?

I've noticed that some manufacturers are also bored with the usual Black,Gray,Silver color pallet so what do they do? Pearl Black, or Smoke Silver...........pleeeease!
