In one of last year's magazines, does anyone remember when the LS430 lost to the MB/BMW/Audi? And remember when the LS430 kicked their asses? It lost when it was always compared against bigger engines and car sizes, MB S500, BMW 745iL, A8, but it kicked the MB S430 and BMW 740i. I can't wait to see the next comparison between the LS460L and the German made cars. I've driven them all and loved only one, Lexus.
At any time if the Lexus LS would be compared head to head with its competitors it will with no doubt be the winner. Wonderful job LS460 designers.

Heck, trousers can be dry-cleaned. But, Lexus should have made that tray just a hair larger to avoid the untold damage when a beverage spills and then drips down into those expensive electronics directly below the tray!!! No warranty on negligence either!!! This is a disaster just waiting to happen.

I never even noticed the electronics below because I was laughing at the thought of someone actually putting a drink on some ridiculous table....Lexus has great gagetry, but this was clearly some after thought....Prolly some board memeber came to look at the mock up interior in the design stages ripped off his you-know-what and was like.... "Uhhhh guys, I need something in here for my Martinis! (or Sake as ePhilly stated).

I've owned Toyota products for the last 27 years. I don't buy them because they are the "best" cars made but because they are the best cars for me - I want and need reliability and durability. Toyotas fit the bill. Lets face it, we're comparing apples and oranges and pears here. Lets see a show of hands - if someone made a car that had the driving dynamics of a BMW, the styling of a MB and the reliability of a Lexus, would you buy it? You there, in the back, why isn't your hand up? Renault? You're in the wrong room, they're downstairs.

Because someone from Auto Spies said it was a martini table it must be true? Do you really think that is what Lexus intends that to be used for? Come on guys - get real. It is to be used as writing table or something like that. Those glasses are just cheap props!

In my opinion Magnum has a very good point. I'm not a German car hater but alot of people that ive spoken to drive German cars and when I ask them about Lexus/Toyota they dont seem to have anything positive to say. They dont seem to have a good reason for hating them but just that they are 'Japanese.' This is in some peoples minds that Lexus is inferior. At the moment I drive a LS430 and I also have an IS200 but people just wouldnt recognise the car as if it came from space. They will always look at some one driving an S-Class or 7 series and this is just a negative behaviour against Japanese for absolutely no reason although they make wondeful cars.

No need to bash the Lexus or any car for that matter. Each car no matter which make has its pros and cons. It's entirely up to the car buyer which style/options/look they wish to have that's within' their budget. Sure everyone wants to buy a Lexus when you own a Toyota Echo. And sure everyone wants an Echo when you drive a 1980's Toyota. Same idea but different comparison.

Lexus i feel has great value and quality into their manufacturing. Audi/BMW/Mercedes have their qualities as well. All are fine luxury vehicles. Sometimes an owner of a Lexus LS may only have purchased that LS instead of a S500 only because he/she got a better deal(or vice versa).

Either way you can't go wrong with any of these vehicles. All luxury and all great engineering in one form or another. It's just other's seem to make it better. Someone will always top what a great car maker once did. That's the world of automobile designs. You just never know.

Or better yet, get a Kiton suit and take the bus.
