SAAB back from dead...eating brains

SAAB back from dead...eating brains
GM announced they would let SAAB die off this past Friday, as a deal with Spyker couldn't be reached. Apparently Spyker has adjusted their offer to address the concerns GM had originally had.

As flawed of a car maker as SAAB has been for decades, what steps must Spyker take to have SAAB compete again?

What has kept any of you from purchasing a SAAB (if you haven't)?

I'm sure those at any SAAB offices feels like zombies these days. They don't know whether to prep for new product or discount their stock for liquidation sales.

If I knew I could buy and maintain a Saab out of a Chevy or GMC dealership, I would consider buying one. The 9-3 Aero Sport is a good looking car IMO.

It doesn't help that Saab dealerships are few and far between. It's pointless having to drive 5 hours in some cases to purchase and maintain a car that's really no more unique than a Chevy Malibu.

Hey Saab was going to crap long before GM got a hold of it. Owned three 900's - all great fun cars (and fabulous snow cars). One was perfect mechanically, the other two, not so much. Then I owned a 9000 (awful snow car, btw) with an engine that would cut out anytime you cornered above about say 0.3g's (electrical gremlin that they finally found). I owned a total of 5 pre-GM Saabs - I loved one, never sure that the other 4 would get me home.

I've driven a bunch of 9 hatches before. Good in snow yes, PIA to start though. Give them one cold night and you can have fun trying to get one to start.

Did they ever move the key out of the center consol area. Or reduce the size of the GINORMOUS vents in the center dash.
