Audi closer to Mercedes-Benz and Bmw in new car sales
Audi AG has closed within 44,100 units of Mercedes-Benz in global sales after 11 months. This is a remarkable development considering that a year ago, the gap that separated Mercedes-Benz, a unit of Daimler AG, and Audi, a Volkswagen AG subsidiary, was 114,611 units sold.

Audi was also able to halve the distance between it and premium-car sales leader BMW brand. BMW may have led Audi by 184,294 units a year ago but last month the gap had narrowed to 93,112. Despite Audi’s gains, which are supported by increasing sales in China, it is still in third place in global sales.

Selling cheaper versions of their vehicles in places like China and India seems to be a good strategy for Audi, but you can't compare them quality wise to BMW or Mercedes.

what's more remarkable is that mercedes and bmw models are significantly more expensive than comparable audi models...yet they sell MORE volume. generally speaking, it's the other way around...the more expensive the produce the LOWER the volume.

I thought that Audi sold more cars than BMW and Mercedez Benz? Or at least thats what some stupid retard here was trying to tell me. Sounds like he was a crazy Audi Fan. Who are starting to remind me of Lexus fans.

There will be no fun/challenge when they will beat BMW and Mercedes sales wise with upcoming A1 (confirmed) and other tiny cars like A2 (rumoured).
I mean Audi should not go below A3, BMW below 1 series and MB below B class though they have A class also and then the fight for the Number 1 would be interesting.
