GM to allow the public to test-drive select models during the Detroit Auto Show
Instead of going to the local dealership for a test drive, General Motors Co. is finding ways to make it possible for visitors at the local auto show to immediately evaluate a new model right at the show.

GM believes that its lineup is full of greatly improved products and to make more people see that, the carmaker wants to get as many people behind the wheel as possible. According to a Detroit News report, GM is in talks with officials from COBO and the city of Detroit to arrange for a driving route that consumers can use to test the vehicles on-site. Products that will likely be featured are the 2010 Buick LaCrosse, Chevy Equinox, GMC Terrain and Cadillac SRX.

GM seems to be getting VERY serious about advertising and marketing. Recently they changed advertising companies. The old company that they used was obviously doing a poor job and should have been fired entirely but they are keeping them on to sell the trucks apparently. I guess they have never had a problem moving trucks so if it isn't broken don't fix it. I think not. Fire them entirely and improve truck sales as well.

That's like comparing the space shuttle to a wooden sail ship

Improving truck sales will be hard until they make a stronger frame, better 6 speed tanny's standard, kill the rear drum standard brakes, and better crumple zones instead of just bolting the fenders onto the body with no structure underneath them like ford does with their shotgun crumple zones better integrated into the cab, and frame. Look at the truth about trucks to see how crappy other trucks are made.
