Mercedes-Benz said that it plans to re-introduce a four-cylinder engine into the C-Class for the first time in the US market since 2005. Mercedes-Benz adds that a diesel variant will be on the way as well.

We reported that Mercedes-Benz is expected to release new engine options for the freshened C-Class. To date, it has been confirmed that at least two of the engines will come to US soil. goofball u know that the # of cylinders doesnt make a car less. audi's had the 1.8 and 2.0t. not all people need or want big v8 pushrods. power doesnt mean prestige. power sometimes means more problems. get it thru ur thick fat american head. not everything has to be powerful like an american zr1 death mobile which is made from the cheapest plastics that are found on all economy brands.

Ok I would think about buying a smaller engine car because it would be for everyday driving - not street-racing. I'm not a ricer nor a wannabe. I'm not particularly concerned about the environment but I don't mind if I do spend less $$ on gas and pollute a bit less. There are posers out there, but I want this car because I do not need the power.

Canada has had the four cylinder Benz for many years now. They are very popular and are welcomed because of the higher cost of petrol compared to US. The Benz four cylinders are very refined and are very fitting in the entry level luxury car tier.
