Up For Grabs: Backyard-Built Ferrari Enzo Prototype Wannabe Thingy

Up For Grabs: Backyard-Built Ferrari Enzo Prototype Wannabe Thingy

So, what do you say when a Greek guy decides to go into his barn and build a Ferrari Enzo, or the closest thing he can make to an Enzo with his capabilities?

He's got to be out of his mind.

And, if you're still rooting for the underdog in this one, check out its price: USD $800,000.

Yeah, that's not the Chilean Peso over here, that's a helluva sum.

GTspirit reports:

"Our friends at Teamspeed spotted a brand new prototype of the Ferrari Enzo. Developed and handmade by a Greek designer Papanagnou Dimitris, the ‘Italian supercar’ uses high quality materials such as carbon fiber, aluminium and iron titanoum alloyed tubes. Yeah you read it correctly!

The technical characteristics of the vehicle include a four-wheel drive system, automatic-serial gearbox, advanced brakes and suspension system. A 3.7cc 300ps V8 engine from Audi is stage number 1. A second stage of 550ps at 5.000rpm and a third stage of 900ps at 10.000rpm are available upon request."

Not too bad. The paint job could be better.

He says it's not painted yet, so it's just bare carbon fiber. I'll hold on to my $800K until the doors are put on and the body is sanded, primed, and painted. As for stupid, tryme? What's not cool about somebody building their own car--regardless of the result?

@Alle

Although I will say it is cool for someone to invest time/sweat/energy into a project, I will say it is stupid for someone to try and rip off a supercar and try to sell it when they have absolutely NO credibility.

it is awesome that someone makes his own car, but why make it look like an enzo (or any other car for that matter)? that is why he is getting crap: because he copied the enzo. if he had built his own thing (which he really did) he'd be getting huge props

For a couple years there was a Greek Porsche enthusiast who made (and then started selling online) all kinds of carbon and silver(!) goodies for Porsche interiors. The guy had a ton of enthusiasm and from what I saw his parts were better quality than OEM. I think he was a jeweler by trade. Anyway, a lot of his stuff used the Porsche logo and other trademark names...and--imagine this--I'm pretty sure the Porsche goons shut him down.
