GM recalling about 2005-2007 Chevrolet Corvettes
General Motors Co. is recalling about 22,000 Chevrolet Corvettes due to the risk that the roof could separate due to a bad roof and adhesive binding the roof panel to the frame. Affected by the recall are 2005 – 2007 Chevrolet Corvette and 2006 – 2007 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 with a removable roof.

The adhesive between the roof panel and the frame may separate. In a partial separation, there would be a snapping noise when driving over bumps, wind noise, poor roof panel fit, roof panel movement/bounce when a door or hatch is closed, or a water leak in the headliner, according to Chevrolet’s posting on the NHTSA website.

You get what you pay for. At least when the GTR shreds 1st gear, its from abuse not poor engineering.

Could you explain to me that the majority of the 1st gear failures where when the car was stock not modified? Go to nagtroc and there are plenty of people that have modified their GTR and have no problems. Every part has a thresh hold. Its just that the Corvette falls apart under normal use.

Nope you are very wrong. Nissan released an update to dealers for GTR customers. Not only it will prolong the life of the GTR transmission, there are cases of faster acceleration.

and that's where you are wrong veyron, they provided a new ecu tune to save their asses, they won't actually fix any broken $20,000 transmissions.

Clarkson probably noticed that with it on the tracks with his ranting about the seatbelt coming apart as well.

The vette is an American's recession super car. It has never came with quality interiors why would they start now? The Vette is bang for buck value in terms of performance but the quality of that interior is horrid. I don't know where they get them materials from I swear. Even Suzuki could hold up better. I do love the exterior look though but that's about it.

1990300zxTT,,First, Every decission Obama has made has been terrible. When is he going to start taking responsibility for his actions or will he always use Bush as his safety net. Not sticking up for Bush but Obama needs to start acting like a President. In these times the United States needs a good leader and Obama has proven he is not that person. Obama has some great skills, just dosen't use them correctly.
Second, It is highly unnecessary for name calling. We are car people that share our opinions. We are not all going to agree but we do need mutual respect. As far as the Corvette recal, Im not a big Corvette fan and for the praise the Corvettes space frame engineering received, this issue should have never happened.

they are only recalling 2005 to 2007 Corvettes. That's not bad. OH! You meant model year 2005-2007. Work on your grammar, then worry about becoming a journalist.

To the website moderator: please bump "UAW1" from the site. His constant biasness and stupid comments are so predictable. In another forum, he was bragging how GM doesn't have the recalls that Toyota did. All car makers have recalls you fool. But with his predictability we'll have to read how it's not the union fault, but rather management or someone other than his union buddies. I sure hope you're retired, otherwise there could be future recalls with GM with you working there.
