When will the recalls stop? Toyota to recall 43,000 vehicals in China.

In a near rerun of its U.S. fiasco, the Chinese unit of Toyota Motor (NYSE: TM - News) will recall 43,000 vehicles, including models such as Lexus ES350, Lexus RX350, Highlander sports utility vehicle and Previa minivan. The vehicles are reported to have engine oil leaks. The recall, accounting for about 1 percent of Toyota's projected global annual sales, will begin on Dec 30.

In late September, Toyota recalled the largest ever U.S. batch of 3.8 million vehicles, triggered by a high-speed crash in August involving a 2009 Lexus ES350 that killed a California Highway Patrol officer and three members of his family near San Diego. Investigators with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have found out a rubber all-weather floor mat in the wreckage that was slightly longer than the mat and could have covered the accelerator pedal.

The U.S. recall involved popular vehicles such as the Toyota Camry (2007–10 model year) – the top-selling passenger car in the U.S., and the Toyota Prius (2004–09) – the best-selling gas-electric hybrid, apart from Toyota Avalon (2005–10), Toyota Tacoma (2005–10), Toyota Tundra (2007–10) and Lexus (2007–10 ES350 and 2006–10 IS250/350).

To fix the problem, Toyota has instructed dealers to

Like I said. When a company is as big as Toyota it is bound to come out with faulty products. No company has that immunity. Their cars are still good. A recall isn't the end of the world. Companies pick themselves up and move on.

I beg to differ. Toyota is still a very good brand. It`s the top economy brand in the world. They will bounce back and even if they do create unreliable cars it will never be as a bad as domestics. I`ve had my fair share of problems with Ford and GM products and I am never going back.

people seem to not realize that most recalls are PRECAUTIONARY measures for POSSIBLE safety issues.

"In late September, Toyota recalled the largest ever U.S. batch of 3.8 million vehicles, triggered by a high-speed crash in August involving a 2009 Lexus ES350 that killed a California Highway Patrol officer and three members of his family near San Diego. not to sound callous, but this tragedy happened for two reasons: 1) there was a NON-stock floormat improperly installed, and 2) the driver got panicky and failed to do a SO SIMPLE action-- just pop the gear selector to Neutral.

since there were NO design or mechanical fault, and due to this tragic accident, toyota did the massive recall mostly just to demonstrate how much THEY CARE for customers safety and mostly, "peace of mind." the vast majority of the vehicles don't NEED a modified gas pedal. but this action may SOOTHE the concerns of paranoid, incompetent drivers.

true. some people just LOVE to throw dirt on toyota. they even go so far as to spin toyota's conscientious moves as (totally unwarranted) ADMISSIONS by toyota that they sold millions of defective, DANGEROUS vehicles. LMAO!!
