Spyker Is The ONLY Buyer Left Interested In Aquiring Saab
Spyker Cars NV is the only buyer under consideration for the Saab brand and is seeking to line up funding that will satisfy General Motors, a person with direct knowledge of the situation said.

Financing has been a main obstacle to a deal, said the person, who declined to be identified because the information isn't public. The proposal from Spyker, a Dutch sports car maker, had included a Russian partner that GM rejected, and Spyker was seeking to arrange financing that didn't include that partner, the person said. The person declined to be more specific about the Russian entity.

Spyker has been bidding for Saab after GM said last month it would wind down its money-losing Swedish brand after two decades of control.

I wish they would stop reporting on this topic. If someone buys them, then good. If not, let them rest peacefully.

Bottom line is this--Either Spyker has the money to buy them or not. According to Ed Whiticare all someone needs to do is show up with the money GM wants to buy them. If they do this they own Saab. If no one has the money GM winds Saab down. It's that simple. The problem with any of the potential buyers (including Spyker) is that they have not brought the right amount of cash to the table.

GM doesnt want to sell Saab. Or atleast not this new one. Its really only worth about 400million at the most.
