SURVEY: Will the Audi Q7 SUV be a sales success?
Will the Audi Q7 be a sales success?
Yes, it's the best new SUV out there. It elevates the segment to a new level.
No, they waited too long to release it. It's missed the market
It will just steal market share from the Porsche Cayenne and VW Touareg. They blew it by not having a third row seat.

Nate, you are dead wrong my friend.
For example, the Audi A4 and A6 are NOT rebarged Golfs or Jettas; they are built on platforms exclusive to Audi, and not shared by VW.
If you'd like, I can repost a detailed fact list about how Audi is different from VW.
But the bottom line is this:
Audi is a premium brand.
Audi is a tier 1 company.
Audi's worldwide per-model sales are roughly equal to their German rivals (BMW and Merc). In some cases, Audi sells more (like the new A6), and in some cases Audi doesn't (like the outgoing TT).
Audi was even able to post higher European sales than either BMW or Merc during several end-of-month results last year. This is extraordinary considering Audi had a much smaller lineup, (no SUV's, GT's, etc). It will be interesting to see if Audi does indeed surpass BMW and Merc sales by the end of the decade as forecasted; especially since Audi will by that time have 3 SUV's (Q7, Q5, Q3), several new coupe and cabriolet variants (A5, new TT), and even a 600hp supercar (R9).
Yes, naive car fans that think Audi's are 'rebadged VWs' come off sounding quite silly and out-of-touch these days. Mostly because the rest of the world already knows that Audi is equal, and in many cased significantly superior, to either BMW or Merc.

what a ugly suv. The rear lights look like they belong on a city bus they are so big. The front looks like every other audi, boring slabb sides, all in all one ugly vehicle that shares it chassis with vw other boring suv. nothing fancy plus the interior looks like it's dull same dash as most of it boring cars

the Q7 is a runaway success in Europe. Same as the 2004 A8L and the 2005 A6. People speak with their wallets. Europe has spoken.
