BREAKING: Detroit Auto Show Attendees Mugged At Gunpoint Blocks Away From Cobo Hall-Say Security Non-Existent

Attending the Detroit Auto Show is normally a challenge between the weather and crowds in the past but this year, the city is even more on edge as two auto show attendees from California found out.

Dining downtown just blocks away from Cobo Hall, the left the eating establishment to walk a couple blocks away for a drink when a group of masked 13-15 teenagers came at them, guns drawn.

One got away, the other got mugged.

The two men said police and security was weak  and were concerned for others planning on attending the show.

The city issued a statement saying:

"Unfortunately, incidents such as this occur everyday in urban areas across the country. The city of Detroit, under the leadership of Chief Warren Evans, is working to address these issues."

Sounds pretty lame to us.

If you plan on attending, the Spies say be EXTRA careful as this city is on edge.

Detroit is one of the hardest hit places due to the recession. People will do what they have to for money and to be able to eat including robbing,killing etc. Things like this are on the rise over there due to the current economic situation with people out of jobs and all which really is terrible. Another thing is here in certain parts of new york, the cops don't even bother driving by and when they do answer a call they take a long time to get there. They usually stay away from bad neighborhoods that already hate them and unfortunately these places need them the most. I'm sure its like that in places like Detroit also.

Anyone remember(or care to watch) Carlos Mencia's Comedy standup... in one special he said:

Black people in Louisiana are upset because the Mexicans are flocking in to rebuild the city, their city. He then went on to say, Black people shouldn't be upset since they had a chance to build their own city, Detroit, and they f'd that one up.

The crowd couldn't stop laughing.... he is one funny man.
