2010 DETROIT AUTO SHOW: 001 & 00R Kick Off Day 1 With A BANG!
Here we go! The show is underway and 001 and I are hitting up the scene. This year's show is predictably different than past years but the Spies are in force and shooting up a storm.
Take a look at our pictures and start formulating what could possibly be the car of the show. There is a nice array of impressive metal on the floor but this one might come down to the wire. There's been a couple of surprises this year that caught everyone off guard.
Have no fear, wherever you are, AutoSpies has you covered. Take a walk through Cobo Hall and tour the auto show with us.
Stay tuned to the site today for periodical updates throughout the day. We're working hard to bring you the BEST 2010 NAIAS coverage....

GREAT start 001 and 00R! Like being there w/o the sore feet.
Mini concept would be sweet today in 75 degree So Cal.
Lambo girls are hard to beat, missed them in LA.
Focus is SICK!

Mini concept is much cooler than I expected in the flesh...
Focus could be the car of the show...

Look at the grille of Audi A8. It is taking 90% of the front end. Very bland.

There have been many pictures that made the new A8's front end look a bit droopy, but the first picture on this page is great! I love how it looks purely uncompromised in terms of design - no apparent sign of holding back because the public might find it all too ostentatious. I give Audi credit for that. Lexus does have quality, but looks can win the hearts of many. ooo... and the interior... contrasting stitching, expensive-/solid-looking wood, and lots of buttons and switches to make the rear occupants feel "loved." aha However, if the glossy black portions are vulnerable towards scratches and fingerprints, then I might give it a second thought.

I think the 2011 Toyota mini van's roof is too low, did you notice the guy in the back seat? He was leaning back and his head was almost touching the roof, great for Asia, bad for North America with all the tall big fat people.
