AUTO SPIES EXCLUSIVE: Hot new Audi Q7 photo gallery

Don't forget to take our Q7 poll.

Will the Audi Q7 be a sales success?
Yes, it's the best new SUV out there. It elevates the segment to a new level.
No, they waited too long to release it. It's missed the market
It will just steal market share from the Porsche Cayenne and VW Touareg. They blew it by not having a third row seat.

It is a great piece of modern architecture.

Photos may distort its overall profile, but it is a whole new take on traditional SUV design language. Where most new SUV's have rugged looks, or are a bit too extreme, (Cayenne) the Q7 blends the pure elegance of the A6 and A8 luxury saloons with a tall wagon profile.

In fact, I would go as far as saying this is the kind of direction Bentley would take if it were to enter the SUV market. Elegance over rugged detailing.

A very nice SUV for Audi's first dive into this market. I am glad it will offer the extra seating that you can't get in a Toureag. I would love to see it in a really nice dark metallic blue.

Finally, the SUV I've been waiting for ... Sporty, CLassy, yet practical.

I don't know what some people are smoking (I suppose they are entitled to their own opinion, as I count them, it's only two) but the proportions are perfect. This car looks even better with fatter rubber. I own Audi, I love Audis, but I don't buy blindly. The only issue I have with the Q7 is that they should have kept the rear light assemblies and exhaust design the same as the Pikes Peak Concept.

About timing ... I think Audi is late to the game but considering that family vehicles is where the market is going its not too late. They kind of made it up by learning from others' mistakes. Impractical "Sporty" SUVs, SAVs, CRaPs that are unlike any other - they got that right- or whatever you want to call them that have no useful space and can't even properly call themselves off-roaders. There is nothing in the market that can touch the Q7 but there will surely be followers soon enough!
