Is THIS How You Want Your Porsche 997 Turbo To Sound? Capristo Goes To Work...
Although I find it somewhat ridiculous to modify supercars, I must say there are several companies that do some really fantastic work.

Usually aftermarket accessories and parts hinder cars but there are some companies that do thorough product research and development in order to achieve a much better vehicle as a whole. This is what makes a tuner a good one.

Capristo consistently puts out quality products. Do not believe me? Listen to a Ferrari 355 with a Capristo modification.

GTspirit reports:

"Capristo Exhaust Systems has introduced a new sport exhaust system for the Porsche 997 GT2 and the 997 Turbo. The system, made from stainless-steel, has a valve-controlled unit and is back pressure optimized. Next to it is streamline optimized and comes with two 200 cell metal sport catalysts (OBD suitable). The two ceramic-coated end pipes, milled from solid material, finish the looks the system.

Capristo has a programmable control unit also referred to as Capristo Exhaust Control Box available..."

PS - I know, I know the cover shot is a Capristo exhaust for a Cayman...

I heard of them. I may be adding Capristo to my new 911 Turbo. Pennfootball, I think it's a great car. It's not perfect as no car truly is but going from a 4.2 R8 to a Turbo is an upgrade for me. I will enjoy quick launches, twisty mountain roads, and superb interior quality. I can't wait.

Porsche's are not for everyone. You either hate it or love it. People find all reasons to hate on them.

They have the tendency to float on the front end with high spead lift and have snap oversteer i your in a rear engine 911....they are FAR from perfect and quite Persnickety to service. Also rear engined Porsche's tend to wear rear tires faster then a fat kid eat's a peace of cake! THEY ARE NO MATCH TO THE FERRARI'S!

pennfootball I was wondering, what Ferrari's have full sized spares? I would assume you would know since that seems to be your most major concern with most cars. And as you say, you're all about the Ferrari's.

So you only like pre 1988 Ferrari's?

I like all Ferrari's but I like the older ones better yes...easier to work on, and much more rare...that relates to them holding their value better.

That's pretty pro! I got to learn how to use faro arms with laser scanners last semester, they are kind of finnicky but very useful none the less. I wonder what software they use to model exhaust resonance effects.

The Cayman S got the same laptime at V.I.R. as a 911 Carrera S becasue it handles better. This is why many tuning companies are upgrading more and more Cayman's too. The 911 is flawed, my dad had one got rid of it because he stopped liking it.

pennfootball - snap oversteer, float on the front end - wtf are you talking about? Your Dad's 15 year old 911? The 997 Porsches are remarkable sports cars in virtually every way and have none of the behavior that you are referring to. Furthermore, you don't have to blow your dealer to buy one or service one like the Ferrari you hope to own some day.

You don't have to blow yours dealer to service the Ferrari's...most Ferrari owners DON'T GO TO THEIR DEALER'S especially on the older ones. The new ones even don't need to go to the dealer they just need a Ferrari computer and many specialty shops charge between 80-100 an hour. Hawk brake pads cost 150, Ferrari Brembo brake pads cost over 1000 a pair for ones not even as good....no thanks! Also Ferrari "recommended" service like a timing belt every 30,000 miles or 3 years is retarded, you need it every 50,000 or 9 years according to many Ferrari specialists I know. (They are not a toyota and have heavier valve springs so they don't last 100k)Also the Dealer retardation of changing every fluid every year for 2000 dollars is absurd, most people with money and brains don't do that! Just the Neuvo Rich that think a Ferrari is a purse and have no clue.
